Well, I didn't apply the 12 over the 11 'cuz it said not to.
All my pillows also have all their tags. I didn't want to remove them under penalty of law.

I've put the new one over the old for 2 years on this truck

Hope I don't get busted.

Here is the correct way to place your IFTA decals.
-
"do not apply over previous stickers"......Nothing about "do not remove previous stickers". Why would law enforcement need to know if you had previous years IFTA sticker ?
-
They probably came up with that warning after people kept complaining about the new stickers falling off. Of course they're going to fall off once you get up to 5 or 6 layers.
-
That and the anti-theft features of the stickers tend to work fairly well when the sticker is applied directly to the truck. If applied to another sticker, on top of another sticker, on top of another sticker...it gets easier and easier to "lift" an intact IFTA decal off the truck to reuse on a truck it ain't s'posed to be on. -
I guess if you wanted to float stickers, a little piece of magnetic sign backing would go a long way. It would take a sharp diesel bear to figure that one out.

I was thinking more of a theft deterrent...

I think all they are trying to say is, until the old year is done, don't remove the old year or apply new year over the old year. Bottom line, is on Dec 31, 2011 you need a 2011 sticker showing, and on Jan 1, 2012 you need a 2012 sticker showing. I think, though that most states would give you a 10-15 day grace period given the nature of long-haul trucking.
