I will be starting my CDL training with Stevens on February 6. I had to show that I made at least $10,000 dollars a year for the past three years. Once I did that and provided 3 references from students since I was self- employed, everything was OK.
I'm assuming they are asking people who were self-employed or not working, to provide documentation. BTW Smokr, how are things going at Stevens for you?

Whats up guys, been a few days but here is the updates.
Dropped my load in Brea and Riverside yesterday, wind was crazy, drove the 10 miles back to Ontario to wait for new load assignment, not fun at all my empty trailer was changing lanes without my permission.
Got to Ontario called safety and they told me all deaheads where shut down in the area...that included me. darn.
Well they sent me a load assignment anyways, LA to Spokane , not a bad load 1600 miles......EXCEPT...load picked up this morning and was due in Spokane the 30th.....2 days .....1600 miles.....solo? Was willing to do it anyway. Started driving empty trailer to get the load this morning, safety called right away....dang forgot to call them and get off safety weather hold.....park it they tell me. Call us when the wind dies down.
Sat for an hour....wind blowing like hell....ding the qq goes off.....another load assignment, didnt know I could do two at once. lol.
Call dm he tells me I was taken off the other load and this was my new one......that works. Look over load....PROBLEM... load picks up the 29th in Victorville .....and only runs 450 miles to Roseville. WTF..... take away my load .....1600 miles give me another load.....450 miles....not a fair trade at all.
I except it as I have no choice. Call the shipper.....its ready a day early GREAT!!!
So I call and give safety the " Its not windy anymore" talk....they dont really buy it but regardless he takes me off hold.
I learned a lesson, high winds and emty trailors make puckered **S Holes, I said a few prayers in the 40 miles it took me to get to the shipper. Ran the miles off this load sitting in Sacremento .....doesnt deliver till the 30th....booooooooo. Time to start blowing some phones up, if they will answer...love going from number 1 in line on the phone to number 18....wtf....lol. Loving the life, as long as im rolling.
Alliance called me, im excepted if I choose to do so. 7.2 mpg average 2.7% overall variance and COS looks good. I love the idea but this new routing system gives me the creeps. My 2400 mile per week average is scary, would like to see it improve before I go signing contracts. Be well, Shifty. BTW Daddyb was my DD partner, cool cat, smart as a whip.....will be friends for life, welcome him well to the aviary!! -
I think you have to work on it a bit...lol
Anyway I know you can read it if you can decipher the messages that come through on the QQ you should have no prob with that one!!! -
This load I am on is a sucky load 1000 miles 3 days to get it there. But works for me, I will be home sunday evening, work an hour on tuesday to make the delivery the take a couple days off. Will be interesting wirth the new rules.
Pulled into bosselmans grand island for the night.
Only 500 miles to home and all paid.
And I do agree the DM has more to do with loads than they admit. -
And now my poor fridge has died. May this $69 tracker thermoelectric mini fridge rest in peace. It is 3 years and 9 months old. I got my moneys worth.

if your starting school feb 6th make sure you come with proper documents...long form birth certicate or passport.. a readable ss card... these guys are showing up here so not ready and not even prepared to take a cdl test...... gotta laugh... they are grown ups right ??
-
It does make you wonder!! Especially all the ones that turn up 'dirty' on the drug screen!!! Then they get pi**ed at Stevens for sending them home.

Huge change of plans here. I am now on my way to Canuckland from Sioux City...a far cry from my original Grand Island-Laredo run. It's a good run nonetheless 1300 miles in 2.5 days plus the border crossing. After this load, I should be getting a good long TX run since I have to be down there by next Sat.
I'm glad to hear some of you all are getting the miles because they sure haven't been coming this direction as of late. Hopefully that is changing. -
Happens every time ... then they blame Stevens for sending them home

Just over $20 a year for cold food is well worth it.
