Brian Ladd is horrible. I had him on grad fleet, and he never got me any miles. He doesn't care about his drivers. He picked up the phone on Sunday when I called in, so maybe they finally sent him to the weekend crew.

    DUJO Thanks this.

I own my truck now. But I've done both of the other. I wasn't company very long, just for training and then 40 days solo. Leased for 2 years and bought a truck, just recently bought number 2.

Honestly Stevens is as good as anyone else. It will be exactly what you make it here. Things happen good and bad at all companies, but to me the good outweighs the bad. There are some ###-hats in the office, but they are the exception. Most people here will treat you pretty well. Anything worth holding someone to, is worth getting it on the qualcomm.... don't forget that. Ever.

Question for information, are you taking cash advances when you fuel?

im the last person to jump in to the " oh stevens is just great" circle, but as far as only making $50-$100 per trip. you either dont drive when you have the miles or you dont push the system to work for you.. i.e. blow up the qualcom to get a load or make that dm's phone ring every 10 min till you get rolling. as i have said befor there is a mountain of things @ stevens that could be improved.. but if your pay tops out @ a couple hundred bucks a week there may be something wrong, other than stevens.

Well, I typed in a massive post that I was going to cut and paste into an email to family later. Was almost done, must have been enormous! Last couple of lines I hit the mouse pad and backspace and the browser went back a page and it was all gone when I hit forward.
    sigh
It was a good one about how a simple, good load with more than 2,000 miles and four drops turned into a nightmare that still isn't over.
    grrrr
Long story short, I'm finally parked 3 miles from the first drop, and my second appointment for it is now impossible. Legally. And I'm possibly snowed into a small parking lot.
Third round of appointments a charm?

Horrible night for me. I got a load yesterday...pick up at Kraft in Champaign and deliver in Cleburne, TX. Yay!! Pick up 01/30 @ 1930...deliver 02/01 @ 0700. Doable, but extremely tight with absolutely no room for error. So I call Kraft to try and move the appt time up. No cigar. Stevens has to send them an email stating that it's ok. No problem...I decide to call the planner...Danny Doak...what a piece of work that guy is. He is extremely rude and threatens to take me off the load 3 times all because I asked him if he could send them an email. Needless to say, but the appt time didn't get changed.

Anyways, I arrive a 1930 for my live load. I back in to my door...and for any of you that have been here know, they are pretty tight, and they don't give you much room to play with. At 0200, they finally give me the green light, and I pull out. I feel a little bump, think nothing of it as I have clearance on both sides, and pull the rest of the way out. I get out to close the doors, and realize that the drivers side door is no longer attached to the trailer and is now laying on the ground in front of the dock.

Long story short: Stevens is sending a tow truck to get the damaged trailer, and Kraft transloaded my load onto an mty they had here...and it looks like I get to join fleet 50 after all! Hopefully they will still give me my cruise.

So instead of being in Arkansas and on time, I am still in Illinois and quite late. This job really sucks sometimes...
