I have a real quick question for my ttr friends that may help someone else out in the process...
I rarely find myself in north carolina, and every time I have, parking for the night has been a nightmare! All of the truck stops seem smaller than what I'm used to, there are less of them, and it seems like they are filled to the brim around 6:30 pm local time.
My question is this : I'm parked at the eb rest area right before exit 135 on I 40, and my other option is the eb rest area at mm 180 on i40. Time is not an issue, I just don't wanna get there and find it full.
Should I roll onwards? Or should I just stop now while I'm ahead?
parking question (north carolina)

Stop while You are ahead.. just get rolling a little early in the morning....
-
My vote is with No Name. Shut er down there.

You'd be the 3rd person to say that haha.
Anywhere else and id have kept driving. But I still have vietnam style flashbacks of the last time I tried to park in nc... and the chat with the logs dept the next morning. -
Pretty good stop at the 170 Mocksville normally spaces there. Decent reteraunt. I take it the customer is out of question?
The only reason I ask is I personally hate leaving anything to take up valuable hours tommorow I can do today. Just my opinion. -
Oh it burns me up to leave for tomorrow what I could do today, believe me

The only reason I didn't think of that stop in mocksville is cause of that relatively big stop in conover where I swear I saw guys sleeping in the fuel islands 0.o
And yeah, no parking at the customer. They have a huge parking lot too.... I suspect some previous driver emptied his/her garbage can in the lot and ruined it for everyone! -
Where in NC is your final and how much time do you have left on your clock?
-
You talking about rest areas or truck stops? The Wilco-Hess at MM 133/Rock Barn Rd. isn't that bad for getting a spot. Park along the edges of the lot if you can.

Bradonpdx I live near that place and it was hard for me to get in there at night to take my break when I was local at night. I always had to BT so I could park.
