Oh ok. Man it would be great to get a trainer that comes recommended. I've read of others experience with terrible trainers and I don't wish to have that same experience.
-
My husband went to the one in Sac, and talked me into going to the one in Fontna... But we understand they did some house cleaning after he left.
You really won't be able to 'choose' your trainer, at least I don't think so... You get to specify smoking or non and if you're female you can wait for a female trainer.
Most trucks do not have APUs unless you get an old O/O truck that they haven't removed it for resale yet... As for inverters you can have one installed.Heisreason Thanks this. -
Sorry for the newbie, non-Central related, question but if your truck doesn't have an APU and idling is frowned upon and in some areas illegal. What's the best way to stay warm or cool when parked besides a warm sleeping bag during the winter but what about the extremely hot summer. Or have I partially answered my own question?
-
Some trucks have an ICON system which is thermostat controlled ... Runs the truck to hit the temp set then turns the truck off... In the winter for heat there is also the bunk heater... ALWAYS have enough covering though to be warm without the heating of the truck... If the truck breaks down and can't start for some reason in the middle of winter, you need that back up. Also make sure you have water and food too!!Heisreason Thanks this.

Best Trainer is Larry Harris. Bar none
O/O trucks have a window on the lower bunk. Company drivers dont have window on lower bunk.Heisreason Thanks this. -
My trainer was Justin Smith, I would recommend him too.

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. I've been extremely busy getting everything lined up. I've passed all my CDL writtens and the driving test, all with 90% or better
. I could have had my CDL issued today but would have had to go back down to Tyler again on Thursday and pay the $11 to get the intra-state restriction removed. Instead, I made a deal with one of the guys there and they're going to keep my paperwork and I'll come in on Thursday, my 21st birthday, and be issued my CDL without the restriction. I've got my plane ticket booked and I'm heading up to SLC on Saturday, be landing about 7:30PM central time.
Interesting developments; I called and talked to the recruiting supervisor trying to get some certain things confirmed. My recruiter originally told me that I would be coming into orientation and then directly out with a trainer. Then he told me that I would have to go through a two week CDL refresher course, then orientation and OTR training, all free of charge. Well, once I talked to the recruiting supervisor it was apparent that he was full of $h!t. He said that I would be coming up for a two week CDL training course that is $3000 (financed out at $28.50 per check and if I'm there for a year (which I plan to be) it will be dropped to $1500), then orientation, and OTR training. Naturally, I was pissed but I'll get over it I guess.
One of the reasons I chose Central was because of their short class-room and OTR training versus other companies' six week class and eight week OTR training. That said, I'm still gunning for Central and will be starting class on Feb 6th for sure. I guess I'll just be sitting when everyone is dying of old age at the DMV hahaha! Thanks for the great help and advice everyone and can't wait to meet y'all. See you at West Valley!!!!! -
Do not go to sac tda if you live in ca go to fontana...the hotel is free anyways. I went to fontana and they sent the entire norcal crew for retraining
Lady K Thanks this.
