You wouldn't log one mile would you?

When I stop and fill the refr tank before dropping a shuttle trailer, the Pilot TS is only about 3/4 of a mile from the receiver.

Maybe it is 1.2 miles by the time I drive down the side road to get to the far gate where they have trucks enter.

Is it legal to show the fuel stop on the "on duty" line (paper logs still, woo hoo) then leaving it there for the "drop and hook" time? Even though I drove that tiny distance on a city road. It is all in the same municipality.

Is that one instance that E-Logs would be beneficial since I could show "driving" for two minutes then jump back to off duty while I wait in line to get in?

The way my e-logs worked, if I drove (or was in any other duty status) for less than 5 minutes, it would revert to the previous status.

So, if I spent, say, 8 minutes fueling the reefer, then drove for 2 minutes, then went "Off Duty" while waiting to enter, the e-log would show me "Off Duty" from the time I started driving 2 minutes previously.

To my understanding anything under 7 minutes does not have to be logged(unless fueling , inspecting, etc), In your situation I would log 15min fuel, 15 min drop & hook(PTI).

A friend of mine, moved his truck to the spot in front of him and they sent a message that he had to restart the 10 hour break. It depends on the company.

Its up to the company how you log it. We log it as on-duty none driving because of the time it takes to drive and fuel. which is less than 15 mins. for me.

If I pulled my truck forward, to avoid backing out in the morning, and my company told me to restart my 10 hour break, I would immediately be job hunting for somewhere less silly.

I would show 15 minutes fueling and continue on line 4 with the check in/drop/hook/pti, maybe 30 more minutes.
Just flag the short move after fueling. They'll see the same town and not say a word. That's how it happened.

Angle them flag lines good! :)
