Day 2 in the shop with vehicle maintenance training, great way to start off the career, changed the oil in the tractor, 2 new filters, changed the air filter, replaced both fuel filters, greased the tractor and trailer, checked the differentials, replaced DOT tape on the back replaced grease flow valves on rear axels, filled coolant and washed the vehicle getting ready in one more day and a wakeup call to hit the patches.

Hornet, it was not the Squid that sat next to you, it was Ron aka Kriv-CO, from Colorado Springs, also.
Guess I need to update. Thanks Paul. I too made it to the patch. Nabors at Ozona. Fresh out of school, came down as instructed, got hired that day, then went home to wait for the news. Got the good news, but no housing!! Ended up buying an old travel trailer which is now housed at the Circle Bar truck stop/RV site.
Orientation with Hornet, then 4 hours of getting signed on in the office, then straight to the road with trainer. No time wasted.
They want a total of 50 drivers over here and have about 28 now! But, living arrangements are far and few between. Spots at the RV site though. For now.
Brought another guy from CDL school down with me. Same drill. Came down, got hired, camping next door to me.
Paul had it all right, come and work.
Hornet, I'd be interested in that portfolio, as well.

Hey Hornet!! I was looking back at some older posts and I think ya got one wrong. We haven't met yet. But I am looking forward to meeting all of you guys soon!! I have to wait until Uncle Sugar says I can leave, otherwise I'll be AWOL. I am looking at being officially discharged 10/24/2012. I have about 60 days of leave saved up and I am planning to use my leave days at the end so I can get out sooner est. 8/24/2012. How about them Giants??? Bradey should have given the helm over to #3 Stephen Gostkowski oh wait...his best ever is 53 yards. GO COLTS!!!

Hey paulcouto
Hey buddy how in the world did you get a novice driver straight out of CDL school a job with Nabors without experience. I'm so interested in the job opportunities there cuz I know they exists but for someone right out of school is that seriously possible? I say this because here in West Virginia I've applied at so many natgas companies and they won't touch me without experience. I graduated from a repetuable CDL-A school and got my Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements last month but nada still no one will hire me and the need for brine/water haulers is huge but I just don't get it cuz the need is huge. I'm 51 a vet with some experience but long long ago and only a few months worth at that. Tell me honestly if I were to come out there would I really get a job and if so can you send me a phone number and or link of the job. I really appreciate it cuz like you that's what I really want to do anyway. I have a buddy in San Antonio and been there two years ago looking for work but not with a CDL so any info would be so appreciated. Thanks!!!
