As soon as we get a load back I'll be back at West Valley City for my upgrade. Got the day off to watch the Superbowl in Rochelle, IL. Not by choice, mind you. It's a decent truck stop to be stuck in, but I'd rather be listening to the game on Sirius while driving back for my upgrade and my trainer is not happy at the loss of revenue. He wants to be back at WVC under load and picking up a new trainee.

I know Central does not have APU's. What is the largest inverter they allow installed on the Company trucks?
-
We had a 1500 on the company truck - we have a 2500 on our lease truck.
Both were installed by people that knew what they were doing AND both had/have BIG ##### fuses right next to the batteries.BiggDaddy Thanks this. -
How does the lease fuel surcharge work...i dont plan on leasing but I was bored and crunched some numhers. At 2500 miles a week as a company driver you make 700 gross. The truck gets 6mpg so 2500 / 6 is 416 gallons. At orientation they said the fuel surcharge works out to 1.20 a gallon so thats 500 in fuel and 800 for your lease.maint.insurance so its 1300 in truck expenses if you lease. 2500 x .88 - 1300 comes out to 900. So as a co. driver if you gross 700 youll probably net 550. With the lease since youre 1099 most owner ops said they break even on taxes or pay less than ten percent...but assuming we take 20% for taxes thats still 720 vs 550...is my math way off? Thanks

dont forget to add in all the little bullcrap fees they add in like quallcom rental, over milage if applicable, all the washouts and scale tickets for the week thats your responsability also. and all the other lil hidden costs im sure lady k and klingon can shine more light on those since they are current lease flunkies oh sorry i ment ops....lol.....

Yep... We are leashed... And the expenses were all explained and we had no surprises... Well except the $20 per Comcheck charge to get our own money out of the maintainance account for outside maintainance... So now the only money in there is to cover home time so we have no negative check (no charge for that transfer). We are keeping the same amount out for maintainance, but in OUR bank instead of theirs... There are definite downsides if you want/need home time, but so far so good with us...
jimbo2 Thanks this.
