Hey Veteran driver, thanks for the comment I've been in & around the trucking business all my life, took about 10 yrs off after my Dad passed away he was a driver he taught me not to put up with crap from no one, these comments on here can't break my spirits, I've been back at it about 10 yrs now & have ran all 48 have an excellent driving record NO tickets, failed inspection, safety violations, accidents of any kind so that speaks for itself when looking for a job as I said 3 days later I was driving for another company making 40cpm & 3 weeks in a row with 2850 miles. I look at the negative comments on here as I do the womens comments on Facebook hahaha!!! Your right I am a truck driver & a darn good you will not see me driving or hauling anything unsafe!!! take care I run the Eastern states now if your around the Pa, Oh, Va. Nj. states holler the Ga. Clawhammer on the CB chances are I'll be around there somewhere Take care & run safeVeteran driver Thanks this.

My question is( and I mean this in general not just you) why would anyone sit in the truck once if you were told $.34 and then told $.32?
Two weeks? Nope about fifteen seconds after they say that. If they lie to get you in the door just imagine the crap sandwich sans wonder bread they are gonna feed you when you eat that your first day.
But I tried have worked for companies for two weeks or less. Either we are gonna work together and make money or not. I'll fire anybody not productive out of the gate. -
Now I know why some people say if you ain't lyin' you ain't truckin'

I actually agree with the OP if a company is screwing me and lying to me on day one by day two I'm looking for another job. I would have taken them their equipment back though. Just with the hammer down up to the speed limit or the governor the entire way. -
Once a company lies to you...then it's very hard to believe anything they say from that point on & my opinion is...once they lie to me,then the trust is gone & so am I .

Although abandonment is not good, I understand the frustration. What I don't understand is all of these company suck ###es and automatons who have so graciously blessed us with they're feedback.

Schneider National told me 2 days into orientation that the recruiter quoted me the wrong mileage and for the account I was hired onto the pay was 1/2 cent lower per mile. They also told me they would pay for my way home and apologized several times for this. You have to make sure it was not a mistake but outright lies. I agree that if the company blatantly lies to you then its a no-go.
