Member since 08 and they have read over and fixed to make legal lease agreements and will happily fight for what is right. My father in law is and has been a member since way back.

I've been a member for a decade now and I have used many of their services. They truly know trucking and can get an answer to any question. I've had medical, Occ/Acc, Unladen Liability and physical damage through them at various times. I've also used their drug testing consortium and fuel card, which they were very generous with credit vs TCH, which I'd had for over a year when I switched. The dues are cheap, and they are the only voice for the small trucker.
bitcrazy59 and Truck609 Thank this. -
OOIDA is very good. Anytime I ever had a question, I either E-mailed or Called them, and they balways responded and answered all of my questions. WELL WORTH IT

I just renewed my membreship with OOIDA as well as signed up for some of the Health benefits they offer. They were fast to get my benefits started up and looking forward to having some coverage.
I believe it will be a good move on my part to partake in the offered coverage. -
Been a member since april '03. See an OOIDA basher has already popped in on this thread. They can't be the end all be all, do everything for everyone assoc, there really isn't and never will be such a thing. So you disagree with something about them. Imagine that. Do you even know their history? They've won a few fights here and there, and some big ones at that. Which is more than can be said of the other trucker associations... ...wait a minute, what other ones????? So keep on badmouthing the ONLY association that's even trying to improve things to the benefit of most drivers out here...

Does this mean they are making sure companies pay detention.time? Or shippers unload at reasonable times instead of over 3-6 hours? What are they doing to help build better roads? Are they telling the government that with better roads we can get better fuel economy.? Or countless construction? Or hos hours all used up sitting at recievers or shippers? Ooidia has answers for people who want to become independant owners who aren't smart enough to do it on their own, they are a guide, if you will. A guide to show you how to become independant. They might help you in owner operator but they won't BAMBOOZAL me like they do you on what mattters most. Safety, safe roads, and shippers and recievers accountable and flexibilty when I have three days to drive 500 miles and used 3 hos hours each day for that I don't need a reset unless I run full 10s , 7 days straight. Are they helping with any of that?

biker dave Thanks this. -
Wow!!! You're really ignorant and uninformed. To get started on your education. Google Tennessee Public Service Commission. OOIDA destroyed them. Do you know what they've done recently in Minnesota?
OOIDA is constantly fighting on the issues you are complaining about. Do you think they destroyed the TN PSC over night? The system doesn't work that way driver. It takes years to litigate through the courts or lobby represenatives for change. I ask you again, who else is out there doing anything for you as driver beside OOIDA? That's right, no-one, zilch, nada. OOIDA is the only voice you have and your whining on the internet doesnt count cause it accomplishes nothing.
They fight for all drivers. The "Independant" in their name has nothing to do with owner operators. Every single driver out there, company, o/o, lease purchase, is an independant individual..... OOIDA can't help you if you're dumb fool enough to continue driving for someone giving you 3 days to go 500 miles... If you can't figure that one out there isn't any hope for you.. That's where the independence part comes in, and common sense...jjranch, 1958Pete, TNPRIDE1066 and 8 others Thank this.
