I think he was blending "jumping in head first" and "jumping in with both feet"

Well lets do us a little math shall we...
    $410/week X 4.3333333/weeks in a month (avg) = $1776.66/month Truck payment

    $345/week X $.3333333/weeks in month = $ 1494.99/ month for insurance

First off you're being ripped off on both ends a worn out pile of garbage truck at that kind of monthly payment GOOD LUCK Secondly when i had my truck AND trailer my insurance was only $900/month so AGAIN Good Luck

    roadhammer123 Thanks this.

Just be very careful of leasing in todays economy, I have over 5 years experience, and do what my trainer said to do, the next time you go into a truck stop for the night. Go inside and have dinner and sit and listen to the experienced drivers, and when you find one, ask him about leasing? or just talk to the experienced guys or gals on thsi forum. I was always told theirs alot to know when you are leasing, its not as easy as they make it. god bless

For a few moments I was thinking Schugel might be a good thing...BUT...Their website and their recruiters brag about starting out at .36/mile...and after some poking and prodding I managed to coax out of them that .36/mile is actually a .27/mile base rate, with a MANDATORY .09/MILE PER DIEM INCLUDED. In other words, a newbie working for a bottom feeder making .30/mile and claiming per diem on his own on taxes will come out way better than an experienced driver working for Schugel...sorry...my place of employment has NO BUSINESS messing with my taxes. any outfit forcing per diem on drivers should be avoided at all costs... moral of the story, do your research and do it well... I'm sure hundreds will ignore this post and follow the line of suckers and lemmings right into the front door in New Ulm...

not sure how much experience you have, but Millis out of Black river falls, wi and new century out of jersey are pretty good from what i hear... schugel seems to be shady on lease deal as well as company driver side of things.
