Kentucky is rough for freight today.

Delivered my load of produce from the port in Philly (yeah for TWIC) to Louisville yesterday morning.

A couple hour wait for new load assignment. Load comes thru and I have to haul 3 hours to park near the 01 before my 14 runs out.

Break then head over to the shippers. No loads. Guard says they are all gone. Dispatch checks. Load was canceled. Back to truck stop and fortunately there is a space at 0230 in the morning.

Boss comes in gives me the exact same load only it picks up 24 hours after the other was canceled. I express my concerns and displeasure on the situation and my prospects of a good weekend load shot to hell by being empty on a Friday night with prospect of Saturday scraps for a weekend run.

Boss says there isn't anything in KY but he will keep an eye out for me. Plus extra pay for the hassle.

Boss ditches load and I'm assigned a repower decent miles, better reload location. Few hours later they decide a team closer would be better for the repower and immediately assign me a 2500 mile load to WA delivering Tues morning.

Load picks up tomorrow. Looking at a 3200 mile week and all the hassle feels worth it!

Yes. Although, unless you are FB, as a solo driver (or live there) you don't generally see the west coast very often.

I like it when it's really cold. The snow just gets blown off the roads, won't melt and turn to ice. :biggrin_25519:
