06-07 mgood in Ca until Dec 31, 2013. After that you need to put a DPF on your truck. Or buy an 08 and up

 

Do you know if the dpf thing is only for Cali? or will it be required on all trucks? And all states.

 

Well, I'm strongly against any emissions stuff. Cats(catalytic converter), dpf, def, and egr.

I like diesel engines that breathe clean air, produce power, and let a little coal roll every now and then.

I will say though, if i could get a newer truck that produces great power, and the dpf won't clog up and strand you on the side of the road or cause any harm to the engine then I wouldn't mind having one.

I like the lonestar and my buddy told me to order one as a glider kit and put a cat 6nz in it. Which for some reason I had it in my head that you could only do that with kW and Pete's lol

 

i think it's the other way around.

new trucks breeak down more then older trucks. companies that won't newer trucks don't mind there freight being late.

 

Our company bought the crap star and crapcadias.

Their in the shop a lot. Some of the guys never have a problem while others are having a sensor go bad almost every week

 

i drive an 89 pete 379 short hood, 3406b, 13-sp, 4-11 rears w/air locker for the dirt.

2000 w900l c-15, 18 sp, 74 inch double bunk for the road trips hauling contaminated material or shot-rock

 

2001, 2002, 2-2007, 2009, 2010, and a 2012. I buy brand new trucks because I can, I enjoy driving new trucks & I need the tax writeoff. That being said there is nothing wrong with a 12.7 freightshaker thats paid for in full. Run it 2 years and put some money away doing it. Smart business move.
