I moderate a hunting/fishing/outdoors forum that has tens of thousands of members, and I've done so for like 7 years. I have NEVER had to take any kind of "delete/remove/report/etc" actions.

I honestly dont know why this site has such a quick trigger, and this is the only site I've ever seen that gives "infractions and accumlitive banning points" but I dont own the place so I liken this the same as if were to enter a privately owned house, light up a cigar, then bittch about the home owner who tells me to put it out.

1982 hmmmm Was in the USAF did a bit of Fuel truck driving for them, Up to that point had been driving Cement Truck for my Dad on weekends, and was much more likely to get into trouble! I like me now much better than then.

Ah yes, 1982. No job, no responsibilities, no car, Casy Kassem was still doing the American Top 40 and I looked forward to waking up Saturday mornings to watch cartoons and I thought boys were yucky and had cooties. (p.s. they do)

I couldn't agree more with Winchester Magnum. I think the moderators are the ones that need to grow up! We're all adults here. I think we can take whatever anyone has to say. These deleted posts are just ridiculous.

That pretty much sums it up. The rules are set by the people who pay the bill to maintain the place, and it is typically based on their value set.

I think the swear filter is a little excessive, but instead of trying to figure out creative ways to circumvent it (which I have done before, so I'm not perfect), I just came to the point that I would reword things. Sometimes, if I want to cuss, I type it anyway and let it get asterisked. People get the point.

And I do have to disagree with the "mods need to grow up" bit. If they were to throw their hands up, and let it be a free for all, this place in a short time would have the conduct of two words.
