    Hey Markus....
I've started my own thread detailing my experiences with Schneider. I've been planning on it anyways...not copying you or anything..lol
Besides...even if I was, it's said.... Imitation is the sincerest form of flatery.
    Right?
But I wasn't...you just beat me to it. =)

I hope I can get through everything without much of an issue. I don't want to go back to selling shoes...ugh!
Hang in there, the worst is behind you. It will only get better and more profitable as you go....I reckon.
    Thanks for the inspirations!

Maybe I dont understand stand how to work my Qualcomm properly. I got a message from a weekend dispatcher tonight...."Mark...why are you not picking up the load down in Palmyra tonight...you have enough hours". I wrote back...I have 2 hours left on my 14. I have 100 miles to go...I've been driving since 7 this morning....it's snowing...I'm tired how do they think I have enough hours? I guess they can see some data...but it must be wrong. 2 hrs left...I might make it there. But wouldn't get out of the parking lot...much less find a place to stop for the night. Dispatchers ought to spend a month driving before they become a dispatcher.
I worked hard today....after 12 hours the guy is complaining because I want to stop? I wonder...did he stop for lunch? Did he go home after 8 hours in the cubical? How long has it been since he's slept in his own bed. I was having a pretty good day to, that message came thru the squak box.

    Wedge Thanks this.

you got that right Mark cuz your dispatcher is looking at a computer screen and not understanding the weather, traffic, changes in speed if you are not on a highway etc and thinks 100 miles at 62 mph (ave) means you have about 15-20 minutes to spare

    Wedge Thanks this.

Ran into my own bit of trouble today. East of Akron, I76 comes to a grinding halt!!! Took 2 1/2 hours to travel 2 miles.I had planned a good run today getting me to indy oc for my 10 tonight. then drop this load tomorrow , pick up a relay and BOOM , home time!!!Instead I'm just WEST of Akron for my 10 tonight!!!
Turns out there was a bad 22 car pile up around noon. They closed down 76 west for 6 or so hours and had east sut down for shorter time. I realy hope no one was seriously injured.

ooooh. I see now. No I am not. Transition has been delayed for obetz or at least the board I'm on.

I used when out with my TE though. It does seem to make more sense thsan the mac reply system. Zero chance of skipping a step. See the green check mark and you move on.
I think one of the bugs that needs fixed asap is the NAT/ETA(not sure of the other acronym). Seen it with TE, he would input an adjusted time and it wouldn't be accepted. It would appear it was. Then once he left that screen then came back to it ,the original times were back.

Keep up the posts here. Markus, do you have another thread somewhere? I enjoy reading all of the experiences on the road. I passed all my tests, CDL, HazMat, doubles, tanker, etc., so I have my permit. I also passed my DOT physical and my finger prints have cleared. I will be attending driving school the first week of March. No problems on driving record, just one red light 4 years ago and nothing more for past 7+ years, so I should be good to go.
Keep up the posts here. I read here almost every day and I am anxious to hear of your progress, likes and dislikes, etc. Thanks for taking the time.

I have wondered if this is where people start getting bored with this thread... it's been 3 weeks....THREE WEEKS with no accidents!!! WOOT WOOT... I am feeling better and better about my command of the truck and trailer... I have to do at least one... sometimes more ally docks everyday.... they're getting better. Today I dropped an MT at a Target Distribution center..that is pretty big... but also...pretty quiet. So, I took a few extra minutes to practice backing...I'm sure the yard jockeys wondered what the heck I was doing... but there was no one there for me to get in the way of...and I wasn't particularity pressed for time.

Oh...and another thing... I'm on a 5 day on... 34 hours off schedule...so, I haven't had to worry about the 70hour rule...it just hasn't been an issue...until this week. Not sure why... but suddenely I find myself in danger of having to shut down in the middle of knowhere (yea...I know I spelled it funny).. but I read a post from Wedge that was talking about editing the electronic logs... I hadn't approved yesterdays yet...so, I went back to see if I had wasted any time... I was able to pick up just enough to do my last assignment and get home... 5 minutes to spare.
Believe me, I"ll be watching that 70 hour clock from now on... and try and remember to put myself off duty...when I am ... off duty... like break time at the truck stop... or waiting for a live load... that stuff adds up...and will come back to bite you someday. well... I'm home for 34 now... just took a shower...shaved.. etc. as wedge says...thanks for reading.

    Hey Markus,

I was just reading over your posts, and I have a question. If your on 5 days and off for a 34, how can you run into trouble on your 70? You'd have to be out more than 5 days.

    I don't foller. :biggrin_2556:
