Hello ladies and gentlemen,
Do any of you drive for TMC?If so,how are they to drive for and which payment option do you prefer and why?I have heard that the percentage pay is pretty decent but i'm not familiar with that at all.Does it seem to be better than milage pay?Thank you

I do not currently work there, but I once did. I was a driver for them for over 2 yrs. It's my opinion that if you are a new driver the percentage plan is the way to go. If you are an experienced driver, you will want to evaluate the difference in the plans. Base you calculations on a max. of 2500/mi/wk. I do not know what the per mile rate is. When I was a new driver, I did slightly better on % plan, but after 6 mos. I opted to go on per mile plan. It is entirely possible I could have earned slightly more if I stayed on the % plan, but I preferred the per mile plan.

Papa0812, a lot of that depends on where you live. On percentage pay, you dont get paid for any empty miles unless the bounce is more than 150 miles (unless that has recently changed). On mileage pay you get paid for all miles loaded and empty. If you live and stay in the right areas, you will tend to have better paying loads and less bounce miles. % would be better. I lived in South Dakota, and thus had more bounce miles than most, to get lower paying loads like hay, and mileage pay seemed to work better. BTW, I don't still work for TMC but was there almost 17 years. Main reason I left was due to living where I do, it was getting hard getting home. I did enjoy working there, and do miss TMC. Would definately go back, if I ever get my wife to move somewhere else.
Old MP Thanks this. -
I'm thinking of moving and not telling the wife. I wonder how long I will have been gone before she notices.......with that I guess I could classify it as an experiment. If she finds me then I could annotate the results and post it in a social science journal some where.

On a serious note, MrEd (a jingle always pops in my head when I read the name), is I-75 in Georgia on of the "right areas" with TMC for freight? Thanks.
