That is just disgusting! I can see at least two air freshener trees and what appears to be three different cans of air freshener. If it takes that many chemicals to make the cab smell nice, it is time to find a new place to work. I wonder what was worse, the smell of the drivers or the combined smell of the air fresheners? What a pig pen!
Good luck to you.

Here are the other two photos I left out (a dirty yellow shirt, and behind the red cutain, a crumpled up paper towel which you can't really see in the photo, and all that junk in the cubby hole below, bed sheets and pillow up on top shelf also missing from photo)........Keep in mind this was my third truck of the week in my first week on the job. All trucks were in similar condition for me to just crawl into and make it my new home. At the start of this week again, my truck wasn't back from the shop ready for me to take. So the owner, a complete hygenical dirt bag tells me to take my old truck. Ok. I go into the truck and here he had been using it for a week. I do understand that he owns the truck and can do as he pleases and believe me he does just that. Here is what I found...
1.In the cup holder on dash- A 64 ounce plastic soda cup filled with chew spit and I mean alot of spit.
2.Trash all over the floor between driver seat and passenger seat.
3. He had been sleeping in my sheets and blankets....I know this because I always make the bed and it was a mess, his log book on my dash, and his pillow was there. He's a 10 when it comes to the dirtbag meter. Greasy skin and hair, monster sized blackheads on his face, and dirty clothes.
When I voiced my disgust, he and his business partner, daughter and some other fat slob sitting there just laughed at me. I took my stuff and left because this was the 4th time in 3 weeks I would have to clean someones sickening mess up. It could be a health issue as someone said earlier...I really don't know .....I just want my last weeks pay and that's it. I knew I was at the wrong place on the first day when the Boss handed me a cheap vacuum cleaner and said "Here ya go", (to clean out my new truck) but I wanted to try and stick it out in hopes that it would get better........It just got worse and now it looks bad on my employment record because I was only there 3 weeks and 1 day. WITH SO MANY DRIVING JOBS OUT THERE YOU COULD BE MORE PICKY ABOUT WHO YOU DRIVE FOR. ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A GOOD RECORD.

I know what you mean...But finding the good places isn't the easiest thing to do because they don't advertise as much as the "dime a dozen" places do (like in the trucking job mags you get at the truck stops).
The other thing is location.....depending on where you live can have direct bearing on whether or not they will let you take the truck home on weekends. I called a few places that expected me to park the truck at the terminal on Friday, drive home 3 hrs. and then drive 3 hrs. back on Sunday to pick the truck up....With gas prices so high, I don't think so, plus, that's 6 hours of wasted time every week.
My best bet is to probably ask around more. -
its sad how many bad companies there are out there and that gives companies like mine a bad name. On the other hand it seems like there are a lot of bad truck drivers out there also and seems that the good ones are few and far between so I guess it goes both ways. Wish there was a way to make it better for both sides.
