Winnemucca, NV Flying J. First time over donner pass. Yesterday headed west, and today headed east with 43K in the box. Glad the chain restriction was lifted just before I cruised through. Learned a lesson yesterday, Check the weather report before washing your truck. $40 spent and 24hours later the truck is back to being dirty. Dumb move on my part, as I could have waited until coming back through.

Last load headed west was headwinds all the way. Now I am headed east and I catch headwinds again??? all on I80?? WTF???? Lets see if I can live up to the challenge of 7.5mpg in adverse conditions......

Cargill was late on DDT... but got it out only 2hours late. Delivered in Madisonville, KY and now at the Pilot at Morton's Gap waiting to go to the Tyson in Robards this evening. That load going to Russellville, AR for 2moro. I really don't like driving at night... because that means I have to try to sleep during the day. Never did that very well! Anyway... trucking along!

Shutdown 50 miles from Gallup NM. Couldn't beat the storm so I get some extra sleep. Parts of I-40 are shut down. Tomorrow afternoon I will be in the Mojave desert with the snow and ice behind me for a few days:biggrin_25510:

I15, Dubois ID at a little phillips 66. Small town, walked the main street to stretch the legs and found a bootmaker. A real cobbler that makes custom boots ($450 and up). Little cafe had a good burger and fresh cut idaho french fries.

Had a nice drive on this back road from Wells, NV to twin falls ID. great scenery. Now it up to Billings MT and across to Fargo. (is there more than one?) Finally got a tailwind :biggrin_25525:
