I didn't even know we were supposed to tip the people who clean the showers. Even knowing that I won't do it unless it's really clean. Everybody is suppose to get a tip these days, it's becoming ridiculous.
In truck shower?

I do tip on a regular basis. Back to the shower in truck . I saw at the Dallas truck show a shower that was made into a small sleeper the sleeper attached to the sleeper you have on your truck. about eight grand. the bad thing is you would have to exit your truck to enter into the shower. this would be good if you have plenty of wheelbase.

Hate to admit this, I've gone all week without a shower as a steel hauler....
Not because I wanted to, but because I didn't have the time. However, if I'd had a shower in the bunk of my truck, I would have had time for many showers. See, when you sit around for hours to get unloaded, sit around for hours to get loaded, then have to drive 600 miles to the next day delivery, there is not time to take a shower.
The thing that gets me is this..... the guys that have time to shower, eat dinner, and then get a 10 hour sleep break.

WOW! My thread has come back from the dead. lol Well a little update. I didn't have time to get my shower idea off the ground before I headed out to my new job. But I did some more research on the portable shower idea. I found a site where a guy bought a small popup camper and had everything he needed to be away for long periods of time on his own. The only thing her was missing was a shower. So what he did was went to a local hardware store and bought a "utility sink". There the ones like in closets of janitors rooms and such. Well what he did was cut the four legs of till there was just enough room to still get a plumbing drain to stick out the side. Then took some long skinny strips of plastic and put a shower curtain in the sink attaching it to the insides at the top of the sink with the plastic strips and sealed with caulk. Then fabbed up a circular shower curtain rod that held the shower head and the rest you can imagine. All in all when your done let it drain then whatever you make to hang it just undo that and then it stores itself in the sink and your done.

In warm weather, I have a friend that uses a camping shower, he just hangs it off his 'slider bar' (on the back of cab). When it's time for a shower, he puts on his swimming trunks and takes a shower on the catwalk!

I know its not the same but what about good old fashioned baby wipes.I used the piss out of those in Iraq after a nice 12-14 hour driving mission.Baby wipes never felt so good and cleaned well
91B20H8 Thanks this. -
Nothing beats soap and hot water! Baby wipes are only useful after dropping the kids off at the pool, and then sitting all day until you stop again for that next refreshing shower.
And remember. Thank you for stopping at Pilot.
Oh, wait....stupid Pilot announcer guy in my head again!
