Man, I'm going right past there too. Too bad I'm in the wrong truck. Ah well, at least they're easy to get to.

I didn't mean cheap cheap shoulda rephrased that....CB ate most my play money right now I can't go for $70+ on coax and antenna. Wondering what would be good but still kinda cheap then upgrade when I can. Pretty sure the roadPro antenna/coax won't stand the new setup at least not for long. Thought about firestix but don't have a meter and not 100% on tuning to get it right.

I hadn't put much thought into cophasing so ill just stick with 1 stick.
I know length on coax matters could I get away with 9'? Its a mirror mount on pass side.

9' is fine. I hooked mine up with that grey coax they have in most truck stops, a new mount since the stock ones on 9400's are garbage, and a 4' wilson fiberglass. I just fiddled with it until the built in swr meter was low enough that it wouldn't fry itself and ran with it for now.

If you look at the pic of my truck, the antenna on the passenger side is crooked. That's because the bracket is snapped clean off and the antenna is held on with zip ties. I had it hooked to that one for a while before I found the right mount. Worked pretty much ok.

First time I hooked it up in this truck, the old cb it had in it died and I needed it to talk to the security shack up the street to get in the gate. I rigged it up and held the antenna in my hand out the window. Also worked fine, though I wouldn't recommend that while trying to drive.

Sorry to say, you did it *ss-backwards. Should have spent the coin on the proper antenna setup first, then purchased the radio you could afford. I see this happen all the time and then the operator wonders why his $500 setup sounds like #####. Since it's too late, I'd wait until you can afford a new antenna setup to put in that mobile.

Ordered a General Lee from sparks sunday got it today, wanted to get nitro knobs on it but he said that would be a custom radio then and there were 120 ahead of me, so I think I just put some jeweled knobs and crome covers on it. Great service very happy:yes2557:

Radio arrived in 1 wk not bad. Kept tryin to check status on their page and said I hadn't placed an order but was able to trace it on ups site after 3rd day. Only thing I didn't like. Box was lined and filled with bubble wrap then CB box. Not hooked up yet didn't have a drill to mount it. So I didn't wire it up. Will tonite or tomorrow and will update

You will be very pleased with the Cobra 29 with RFX 75. I use a Wilson 1000 and get on a good 10 miles or so with it on the highway.

What antenna did you end up going with ??? As others have stated, good quality coax and a good quality properly tuned antenna will make or break the performance of your radio.
