Any Questions about Roehl??

yep typically its 50 miles, when i was company i lived 55 miles and they tried at first to get me to park it in ellenwood but i won LOL..

 

Same here. I just got in a 2007 Columbia and all it has stock is an MP3-CD capable reciever. The aftermarket one I have in my car does aux, mp3cd, SD card, usb, ipod, you name it. Unfortunately the wiring harness in the Columbia is that of old Volkswagen's and won't fit aftermarkets, so I found an adapter online to use next time I get home.

However the new Cascadias have all that in the stock radios xD Lucky them!

 

ok thanks guys and if anyone knows about the veteran affairs apprenticeship for military and if roehl still does that or not that would be great. just trying to figure out if I can still get the va money each month from my gi bill or not driving for them

 

I don't believe that they participate in the apprenticeship program anymore, I know that question came up on another Roehl thread just a couple of days ago and the answer was no. You can always check with Roehl. Thank you for your service to our country!!!

 

I am also currently in the military reserve. I have talked to roel and not herd anything about that program, the only thing that i know of is that the trainging for us in marshfield is free. Except for travel, food and lodging.

 

(Repeat question on TheTank's thread) Within a day or so of making my decision to go with Roehl flatbed division or another company (Schneider):

One concern I have at this time in going with Roehl is: Will I be able to find a place to park the rig during home time? Seems like I might get a little more help from the company on this and maybe the fleet manager will be more helpful... The recruiter is telling me it would be up to me to find a place convenient and big enough that will give permission to park. He said is does not need to be a secure area, just need permission so it doesn't get towed; sometimes drivers can make a deal with some place that has a large lot and charge maybe as little as $10/month for the few days it will be there. He also said that some truck stops might give permission to leave it unattended for a couple of days. The closest truck stop is a Flying J @ 24 miles away.

I also have a friend from grade school who has a farm in the area...

Maybe I'll take a little drive around and see what might work...

Any ideas from those who have run into this?

Company can't really help you on this unless they have a drop yard close by. You are going to have to arrange something yourself. Many people park at the nearest truck stops when home. If you do so and are home for an extended amount of time you may want to get permission. If the truck stop is as big as the one I park at they may not even notice when you are home for a week.

 

When I drove for Roehl I parked at the T/A close to my house. I got permission and let them know the extent of my stays. Mostly 3 days or so. I then gave them my truck number and a phone number. At first I didn't park my car there but eventually did and never had an issue. Added it to my contact info. They had a place they pinned it up.

I'm looking to go the National Flatbed route and would like to stay out on the road for as long as possible. How long do they generally allow you to stay out? I would have no problem with a couple months at a time, maybe even more.
