For future reference, if you get that load again... There is a scale at the Pilot on I-44, just outside I-270. Not that far out of route if you're heading down I-55.
How come NO ONE talks about the importance of weight scales?

Next time "ASK" the shipper where the nearest scale is, or if theres another driver, ask him. If you don't know something,"ASK" anyone that is around you. The worst answer you will get is I don't know, but at least "ASK".

No need to try and insult me blackw. I am a very responsible grown up and like to have everything organized and perfect as I am a perfectionist. However when information is left out I tend not to bend over backwards to focus on something that was relayed as being no big deal. If I knew how important it was and I tried to get away with it then I will accept that, but I really tried to do the right thing and still got punished for it.

Get yourself a CAT scale location booklet, they are available at most truckstops for free. Also get yourself a handy dandy truckstop location booklet (about 6 bucks) that will tell you if the truckstop has a scale or not. Last but not least, Get yourself a big, laminated Rand McNally Atlas and read and understand it, way cheaper and more effective than a GPS.

BTW, why does it have to be a CAT scale ? Do you know how to weigh your axles on a full scale ? You have to do the math, or didnt they teach you that in school ?
-
I have only been on a full scale once. Most of the places I go to do not have scales. Heck some of the shipper buildings look like they haven't even been maintenanced in 100 years like the one I left before I got the ticket.

What questions do you have regarding scaling and axles?
Seems you have woke up all the "big boys" who won't show much sympathy or just outright offer some simple advice.
Your next post should contain any and all questions you have about scaling out your axles. Don't take BW900 so personal...believe me, a better friend you could not find, and one with as much knowledge about trucking as he has.
And Bulletproof....well seeing he is from CA....gotta give some leeway on that one! DieselDave too.....yeah and me!Mommas_money_maker and Wargames Thank this.
