You need to check the swr with no "extra" power on.

    What radio?

You can check the SWR with full power on the radio.

    Explain your setup

Radio? Amp? Single or Dual antenna?

    How is everything mounted?

Just a little more detail will help everyone here help you.

If it is not the antenna or coax, that leaves the antenna ground plane as the most likely fault.
    .
What you need to do is interconnect the large metal portions of the truck into one really large antenna ground plane. This is called "Bonding". Connecting the parts together is all about RF [radio frequency] and has nothing to do with electrical grounding.
    .
. You have two possible solutions.
    .
The traditional method is to use 8 to 10 gauge wire. Run a wire from the upper bolt that connects the door to the door hinge. Run the other end to the upper bolt that connects the door hinge to the door frame.
Next, Connect a second wire where the bottom bolt of the upper hinge attaches to the door frame. Attach the other end to the top bolt where the bottom hinge is bolted to the door frame. Finally, connect another wire from the bottom bolt that attaches the bottom hinge to the door frame. Connect the other end to the chassis frame.
    .
NOTE: it is very important to keep the wire lengths short. Do not run one long wire from the door to the chassis. It is extremely important to connect the door to the door frame, the hinges to each other and finally the cab[door frame] to the chassis.
    .
A alternate solution is to install a CB antenna ground plane kit for trucks. See www.FrancisAntennaOnline.com/cb_antenna_mounts.html
