I was wondering if anyone here knows of companies that hire otr straight truck drivers? Are there any websites where I can go on to look at job openings, or if there are leaser and owners looking for drivers?

Not much OTR straight truck deals except expediting... great deal if you want to go broke.

Panther and FedEx Custom Critical have fleet owners that hire drivers . They have ads in the trucking magazines at truck stops

Your sexual orientation doesn't matter...oh wait, nevermind.Gizmo_Man Thanks this.

Thanks man. I've actually seen ads for Fedex Custom Critical, but I'm all they're all the way in Uniontown Ohio. I'm going to give Panther a call on Monday.

My first thought as well!!
Frankly, I have never heard "good words" about Panther. Just saying. -
Panther is know to have bad fleet owners and when I.C drivers gets rip off by a fleet owner they come on here and blame Panther.This go's for other expedite companies as well its just Panther comes up a lot due to they don't required exp for the straight trucks.Problem with Panther is they don't get involve with issues between the driver and owner,guest you can say they can care less,but that's most trucking companies anyway.RickG Thanks this.

Just an FYI,both are 100% O/O but there fleet owners at both that hire drivers.You will be a I/C driver on a 1099 contract.Pay is by the % but there some owners that pay by the mile,depends on what kind of contract they have.If you go on the % pay,its going be either a 60/40 or 40/60,who ever pays fuel and tolls gets the 60% plus 100% fsc.Don't let a fleet owner rip you off by offering anything less than a 60/40 or 40/60,with that being said,there may be a 35/65 or 65/35 with fuel prices rising and truck cost going up,I have seen that before.

One thing nice about expediting is you'll know the first name of every waitress at the truck stops you're waiting at and you can even find a nice mall to park at so you can go "mall walking" five days a week with the senior citizens....

FedEx Custom Critical only 6 requires 6 months experience or attending an a preapproved school to drive a straight truck .
True about fleet owners , good and bad with all carriers . There are fleet owners in several states . They do prefer teams though , preferably same household. (not necessarily straight
)
