Was wondering if a student was from Florida would prime pair them with a trainer from Florida or is it just whoever is available ? Was wondering cuz I've seen a prime truck same color (think its the same truck..lol ) parked every few months in the towni live in.

 

Prime will make an attempt to get you partnered with someone close to your hometown, but sometimes that will mean waiting for a week or two.

 

They say they will try find you a trainer in the same area. However, JCW's two trainers were from GA and ME respectively. And we are from OK.

 

With a STUDENT it doesnt matter. If youre instructor is not going to do the tnt phase he can be from anywhere. You wont be going home during PSD. A TRAINEE, it does matter cause you have to go back home to get your CDL transfered

 

I'm assuming the difference is that a student has a permit, then once you get your CDL you're PSD? So you may actually end up with two separate trainers during your training.

 

Yes, sort of.

PSD = Prime Student Driver. You are a "student" until you complete training and upgrade to A Seat.

Your first phase is "Instructional" that gets you to the point of passing tests for your CDL.

You then become an employee and proceed to "Training" phase which will get you to the point of upgrading and getting your own truck.

Some Prime people only Instruct, others only Train. Some do both.

 

My instructor only did PSD, couldnt sleep behind someone. IF I ever got into it, I wouldnt want to be a trainer. I hate teaming with a passion.
