My experience with Knight Refrigerated

I tried blocking my number, I don't think it works on my cell. Also uploading my video of my exhaust thing.

 

Yeah, I'm not driving this truck any further. I can't see the whole pipe and it smells bad.

 

Right, but I fear that even idling the truck to charge the batteries may cause further damage to the tractor or exhaust or both. I would rather have Knight come get the truck from me than risk damaging their equipment further, though I didn't really damage it, it's just wear that I noticed.

I can't drive it, though. When I run the truck, the exhaust stinks inside. It's far too cold to drive with the windows down.

I also don't know if the insulation is far gone. I can't see all the way around the pipe and I don't want to cause a fire. I'm afraid of causing further damage by trying to move the truck. I'm definitely not putting myself, the load or other people out there at risk just to try to limp it to a terminal that's about 3 hours away if I don't stop, I think.

When I'm not sure, I hang tight. I would rather lose money by sitting still than lose money to fines and other things caused by me trying to make an unsafe vehicle go.

I'm using my best judgment and keeping the truck where it is until Knight gets back to me on how to handle this. If they want it moved, they will have to get another driver to do it and sign me off. I'm not a sissy by any means, but I'm very nervous about even starting the truck to idle it to check the pipe. It smokes really bad when a regen cycle kicks in. I can only imagine the heat damage that might come next!
