New here and I would like your thoughts. I am currently holding a CT Class A CDL w/tank and hazmat endorsements, but here is my problem. I got my class A cdl through a loop hole in the system and have never even been in a cab of an 18 wheeler. So I was looking for some ideas on how to go about getting the training. As I have a cdl already, no test is needed. How would a driving school work this and any other options available? Thanks. btw, I am not set on staying in CT and have no concerns about being home every night. More time on the road the better.

Doesn't really matter how ya got it, especially if you've been able to keep it (and your state recognizes it as legitimate) go find a school you may interested in and apply. I kept my cdl current, but my driving experience is from 15 yrs ago. The school I'm going to just had me renew them again as it was due for renewal last week. I got the cdl...now I just have to get the goods back behind it (again).

Im Currently halfway through AIT, we have a couple in class and both that have their CDL. The benefit of the school is they will teach you what you need to be an entry level driver, you just wont have to pass a state test. I also was able to use the GI Bill to pay for school so I don't owe anything in the end.thank you for your sevice..
