excersise at truck stops

    I have a radio that is component style that sits on top of the amp.
    it is for internet radio although it does pick up some XM re-broadcasts
    but I always forget to write down where I found the station ,,,cause all my preset memories on the remote are already full.

    It is going to catch up to you young man.

    When I was your age I was 6 feet tall and weighed about 125lbs. I had a 29 inch waist and had a 36 inch inseam. I wore a small shirt size.

    That was in the early 1970's.

    Now am 5'10" tall (yes, I shrank, as we age the soft tissue in our spine and joints compresses) I weigh 200lbs. I have a 38 inch waist and a 32 inch inseam. I wear a large shirt size.

    And I exercise regularly. Walking, push ups and sit ups, bicycle. I am physically active. I take day hikes in the mountains and snow ski in the winter. I never park my truck near the front at the truck stop, you will always find me at the back row.

    I pull flatbeds so the work is physically demanding enough that it helps, but I still eat well too. Fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads, fish and poultry, very little red meat.

    At some point in your life it is going to happen to you too. You are going to pull your jeans on one day and have trouble buttoning them. Your shirt is going to feel tight.

    The next thing you know, you are going to be at the department store buying new (larger) clothes, even though the ones you have are not worn out.

    I usually hit the street and get to walking away from the TS. I know in some places that'd be crazy. Those places I use better judgement.

    I also stop at rest area's a couple times a week during mid shift and try to get 20 minutes or so walking the perimeter of those.

    I tend to walk laps around the TS if it;s possible but healthy eating also plays a role in my exercise plan. I too eat lots of fruit and vegetables. I feel better exercising at least every other day.

    Let's see at 40 age and gravity took my 6 pack, at 52 everything else took my BP, I hate to think what else may be taken unexpectedly...LOL :biggrin_25512:
