Or is it the long time on the road? How many hours a day do you drive on average? How many hours a day do you have to rest? How much money do you make a day and week on average?
Thanks nice guys !

Switching gears is not fun. You get all dirty and grimy pulling them out of the Tranny. its a pain. They are not to easy to work on. You would be better off just getting a new Tranny. Eh? I don't work.... I sit on my butt all day long and stare out a window at all the crazy people and hold on to a Steering wheel. Shifting on occasion. Making money is not legal, You can go to jail for that. I earn a fair wage though.

Time on the road {being new} 2-4 weeks
Active hours a day 14 to 16 hours a day {it depends}
driving time a day {at} least 11
Money a week after you go solo { varies a lot company to company} 700 1300 gross.
hope this helps. I know it's really vague but that's a general idea.DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -

The worst part of trucking is having to depended on idiots to do there job correctly so I can do mine. The lazy immigrant at the shipper has to load it on time so I can deliver on time. The dispatcher who just barely understands the HOS regs has to give me a load that I can actually do. The steering wheel holders that think $400 a week is good pay need to get out of the fuel island so I can fuel be on my way and make money.

The only answer that can be answered accurately is how many hours a day do you have to rest . That isn't actually that simple . After 14 hours off duty you need to have 10 hours off duty or 8 consecutive hours in the sleeper berth before you can drive again .
Hours driven in a day and pay vary widely with individuals . -
The worst part of being on the road is that to many shippers, receivers, and trucking companies your time is meaningless and has no value. Endless waiting for stuff that is not ready, or not wanted when you get it to destination, and lots of time away from home. In just about any other employment scenario in this country you are paid for your time once you are at work, not so in a lot of trucking.

Um, $145k?
Sounds like Owner operator wages to me. And either that's a gross amount for someone that takes a lot of time off or a net amount for someone that works their ##### off.
A typical first year earning is 30-40k. After you are proficient it is not uncommon for company drivers to make $800-1200per week. Keep in mind however that higher earnings in this industry are directly tied to time on the road. Your family life & personal life will likely suffer.
