Did you bother reading the bottom of the post, moderators comments? You just made 4 posts back to back in another thread. Then this post. It doesn't look good from a new member. We get alot of spammers in this forum. If you have problems with the staff, you PM them and not try to humiliate in the public forums. That goes for everyone of these comments and posters.
Besides, it just contaminates a thread.
I'll be glad to answer any questions if you don't understand why a moderation took place. Just use the PM system.
rabbi, the button right of the quote button is for multi-quotes (paper/quote symbol). Just press it for all posts you want to comment to. The button will turn red. Then hit the quote button and you have all the quotes in one reply box.
Would not being a good member be is to PM the mod instead of trying to humiliate him in public?

A PM to the mod would not have explained to the member why he could not post a link. The member knew me from many years ago and I assume made the 'Hi Russell' comment as he no longer had my contact information. Possibly He was not cognizant of how the board was run or operated nor how permissions were set up. My post was not as you stated trying to humiliate anyone running the board but rather to let him know his wording would be perceived by the member as disciplining him, based upon the wording "Oh is that right.....enlighten me as to why you GUESS this...". Being a new member of few posts it was only logical to conclude why He guessed what He did. In effect what you are doing right now aimed at me can be perceived by reasonable thinking people as you are now both trying to humiliate me in public, as well as the member, and escalating something which had already been forgotten and no longer commented on in the last few posts. Having spent 6 years as the site Admin, and moderator of all forums on CbTricks.com I have an idea how things run and why it helps to not be overly sensitive.
"Besides, it just contaminates a thread."
This to a new member I cannot understand since in the first few months I have been here the single largest problem has been ham operators coming in and hijacking almost every thread posted in by CB operators, combined with endless off topic lecturing of the laws concerning CB operation where there is in effect little moderation applied and this is done by long standing members who should know better. If that is not considered a problem how can minor offenses of a more trivial nature by a new member of around a half dozen posts warrant this much concern. -

Russell, I tried to PM you, but your box is full. Russell, mark was planning on migrating closer to Florida to be closer to his parents. He was originally planning on moving to El Paso, but I convinced him that Amarillo would be a better place to do business. Things are quickly picking up for him, and I think he is pretty happy there. Business is pretty nonstop for him now. If you ever want to call me, my number is 570-3934-9092

Which Flying J was a Petro before? The one on the SW corner (with Denny's) or the one on the NE corner (with Golden Corral)?
I was thru there about a month ago. Apparently there are two CB shops at that exit (I-95 exit 104). Looks like I picked the bad one. I went to a shop on the NW side of the interchange across the road from the J with the Denny's. It's a stand-alone building with a parking area big enough to pull a semi through. Even though the other J had the TA/Petro trademark angle parking on satellite view, this was the only CB shop mentioned in a couple of different internet searches. So I figured this had to be the one. Is the shop you two mentioned in a kiosk or other over at the other J? If the one I visited is it, I beg to differ about the quality of their work.
My 29 classic was getting a bit troublesome. Mainly getting some odd static at times and spray clean the controls as they were getting scratchy sounding. The light in the meter was out too, so got that fixed too while I was there. Otherwise the radio was ok. Before that, it was clear and definitely hearing and getting out 10+ miles.
Dude jumped in there and did a clip & screwdriver job before i could say STOP. Now anything coming in from over a mile away sounds garbled and overrun with a noise that sounds like howling wind. A second shop in LA tried to fix that and failed as well.
I'm trying to decide whether to bother with calling and sending it back, or just quit while I'm ahead and never return. If this guy is legit and the shop that's been recommended, I might give him a second try. Otherwise, I'm a little weary of spending more money after bad on a radio that sells new for $100. Even if it's just the cost of shipping it. If I do, it will be shipped to a known, actual technician that can do real diagnosis and repairs. Besides, it will become a backup anyway. I've already ordered a new Ranger from Bells. I'm through stopping in at places after a second attempt at another shop failed. Having a half working radio while traveling in the ice this week in MS, AL, and FL really sucked. -
Nice to see some Brother Hams in here.

Anyone know a good or decent radio shop near Midland, TX?

Question if you found out it was your cable. Did you refund him back his express mail money back. Just wondering.... I know if he does that to everyone he will eventually go under.
CondoCruiser said: ↑I think I posted about him before. That's not my normal running lanes. But I had a load going down I-95 and I stopped in there. I let him peak and tune my Cobra 25 back up radio. He did a radio check in front of me and got many good report feedbacks. He also made a comment with a wow! It's swinging 30 watts. I'm not into big radio's. I just wanted that one peaked and tuned to perform a little better. I forget now, but I remember his price was more than fair.
Well I get down the road and got some time after delivery and I install it along with some new braided cables I bought. I couldn't get any replies and wasn't sure it was just truckers ignoring me. Finally the next day a guy tells me it was all garbled. No wonder nobody answered. It was a Night Watch and the needle and lights were acting funny too. I figured he done something wrong.
I call Spirit Man from 1000 miles away and he tells me to bring it back. I told him I don't get that way that often. He said to mail it to him which I did. He called me and told me he couldn't find anything wrong with it. He even express mailed it right back to me. I was extremely pleased with the way he handled the situation. He was nice about the whole deal. He didn't charge me extra and even paid the return shipping.
Turned out them new cables had a dead short in them after I put the ohmeter to them.
lol. I put the old cables back on and it performed like a champ.
But I would go to him again if the situation arose. He does do good honest work and stands behind it.Click to expand... -
What's it your business if I did or didn't? You sign up and register to start crap on a 2 year old post?Comanology said: ↑Question if you found out it was your cable. Since curious minds want to know I called him and told him the problem and he didn't say anything but "I'm glad it's working now". Had he questioned the shipping yes I would of returned it. But no they didn't mention nothing. There are nice people in this world.
Keep on looking! I'm sure there are about 50,000 more post you can pick apart.

I wish one of the techs like DTB would make a sticky in this forum and show (with pictures) what the bad mods look like and what to watch for...
RedForeman Thanks this.
