Maybe you need to throw in some sad puppy pictures.

I only found this to be a problem in Atlanta from wanting to help you back in to selling baseball caps...

I was just thinking. I don't see beggars so much in the colder months. The warmer months, I do see a lot... and lizards...
If I gave one dollar to each person each time they asked for a dollar in the summer, I'm pretty sure I'd be broke every week.
I don't have a problem helping someone who actually NEEDS help, but I don't even have MY bills paid yet!ghostchild Thanks this. -
I'm like you...I hate being conned and used, in my own hour of need...Doublecutter Thanks this.

Almost all beggers are con men or women...
I was homeless once...and never begged or burdened a soul for anything...
A security guard gave me $20 bucks once, cause he felt sorry for me, but I never asked for it...
Only con men/women, burden others for change...there's plenty of safety nets that provide for the homeless or hungry...churches that give out bags of food, or homeless shelters that serve 3 meals a day in almost any city...
a dollar here or 5 bucks there, is not going to fix anyones life...
I know, I was there...allniter, Gearjammin' Penguin and Pur48Ted Thank this. -
True - but most aren't trying to fix their life, they're just trying to get their fix. ; )mgfg Thanks this.

I won't give anyone any money but I will buy them something to.Everytime someone ask me for money I always tell them I dont have any but if they are hungry I will buy them something to eat and only once in 12yrs have they taken me up on that offer and all he got was 2 jelly biscuits because he felt bad for asking. I never give money out!!!Keep it for yourself.
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
I just experienced this in Dallas, TX. I'd been warned about these truck stops, but I had nowhere else to go. It was a scary-looking dude, looked like he just got out of prison. He approached me in my truck, I rolled up the window and just kept saying "no" through the window until he left. He had a partner who was working the other side of the lot.
I even got approached in Amarillo, although it wasn't a scary experience like in Dallas.
What bugs me most is when I see people giving money to those people who stand at freeway exits, I'm thinking "you idiot, now they'll never leave". -
Sad thing is many cities have panhandling laws, but they are never enforced.
Just more useless laws on the books...but if I ever decided to try it, that would be the day they would start....
