Having trouble deciding which of these to get. I dont have to have the flashy 3400 but for a $15 difference it only seems feasible to get the newest model. That is if the 35 has the same proven design as the 34. Anyone know of any differences other than the obvious with different face and lights?
Connex 3300hp or 3400hp

I bought a 3400 last year. Looks cool, sounds good but the receive completely sucked! Lot's of white noise, hard to hear far off stations. If it were me,i would get the 3300hp. H&y Electronics has the 3300hp for around $200.philjo Thanks this.

Probably from the lighting in the faceplate,I wonder if the back-lighting was disabled if the noise would go away???

Ive heard a few complaints of the so called hum from the lighting. Does the 34 share the same internals as the 33? Thanks for the response fellas.

I decided to go with a 3400hp from Sparky. Every review, build etc. that I could find shows both radios producing about the same wattage which is plenty for me. With the exception of the lights being too bright on both models I couldnt find anything that would turn me against the other. So basically i made decision off of what appealed to me most. Which btw isnt the lights, its the black faceplate with chrome knobs and the big ### meter! Probably the wrong choice for many old school fellas out there but im from GenX and i like the useless bling. Lol

I have a 4300HP and have had no problems

Yep I got my old cb up and running ...... 4 watts 40 ch AM killer radio .......

Well Sparky is out of inventory with the 3300hp and 3400hp. Said it could be 30-90 days before they recieve next shipment. I cant wait that long so if anyone knows of a reputable dealer/builder please let me know. Even if its just to buy the radio in stock form at a good price.

i had the 3400hp for about a year started off to be a real nice radio after about 7 or 8 months it was not recieving very good so after several trips to the cb shop a new coax and attena still no change. and afetr a while the lights and humming were just annoying so sold it and got the 3300hp should have got it to start with

hard to go wrong with a trusty 3300hp tuned by a good technician, not a golden screwdriver wannabe.
