2000 vnl 610 locked out of driver side

i cannot open door from outside handle. i can put the key in and turn left and right lock and unlock but it still wont open.

i can unlock it from the inside all day, no problems. the passenger side i can lock and unlock and open with outside door handle.

i imagine something broke inside the mechanism. does anyone have any tips on what to look for replace.

it looks hard, just taking the door panels out.

anyhow, need advice, diagrams or anything to help

 

ive been leaving the driver window down and using the inside handle to open door, its all well until its raining. lol

 

yeah the rod catch at one end was broke off. I took panel out and changed out part number 110b 9143976 description rod.

it works like a champ now. took about 20 minutes total.

Nope. all is good in da neighborhood.
