Wondering About You Truckers' Previous Careers

flipped burgers, worked cash registers, delivered pizzas, drove school bus (I loved driving the bus, it was the KIDS I couldn't stand!!), worked at a couple carnivals as slave labor...when I worked at a truck stop behind the diesel counter, I realized I was on the wrong side of the counter...so started driving dump truck locally...that was back in about 2001. Now I'm looking to get more licensing, endorsements and miles and go OTR.

Now going back to driving temp (possibly) because work died off and I was recently laid off. No other company in area is hiring at moment. It sucks... but company driving has picked up.

 

i worked as a hospice nurse for 15 years, soon the job took to much out of me emotionally. been driving 4 yrs now and i love my job, my dispatcher, and the company i work for.

 

wow many of u had great jobs,
but i hope trucking is satisfying

 

I was a chef and owner of a small beach side scuba diving resort on the sunny beaches of the Philippines

 

At least now you get paid.

 

Ran cash register, certified welder, sales/retail, now a wheel holder......

 

Now Mud do you have the fingerless gloves to go with that wheel holder title?

 

We know he has the mirrored shades...but how about the chain drive wallet as well......

Bought again, doing ok this time but cautious.
