Drove up I-44 yesterday from Joplin, MO through St Louis. I had to have met 30 Maverick trucks going west all loaded and most of them waved at me with my glass load. :biggrin_25519: Where are they all loading in Granite City?

Stuck at the house. I recently moved to IL and have to get my CDL here. Last time I was home (two weeks ago) I took all the written exams. This home time I was going to do the drive test and scheduled it for today, Tuesday. Well on my way back to the house my FM had me pick up a DGL trailer in Dewitt, IA. So as I was dropping my step deck a guy pulls in with a DGL. I asked him if he had any issues with it and he said only one thing, the license light is out. Ok, no big deal, so I took it, picked up a light at the pilot when I got fuel and all was good. Well go to take my drive test today and find that the trailer is 70 days out of inspection! I know I should have looked when I hooked up but didn't. So DMV wouldn't let me do the road test. Took the trailer to T/A and got inspection. Rescheduled drive test for next available appointment, Thursday! Crap, this is going to end up costing me a week!

I'm 3 months in, got my first raise! It's amazing how easier it gets. Of course, repeat shippers/receivers, make life easier. I can't wait for my 6th month. I want that .41, oh and that tarp raise we got too!

Hey ya Pekin is less than an hour from me. Ya a real bathroom is a definite plus and somewhere to grab a bit within walking distance is also a great plus.

Got back on the road Friday. Went down to Mt Zion IL to load my DGL trailer. That's only 90 miles from the house. Load going to northern OH for Mon delivery so back at the house till Sunday afternoon.

Just rolled into Toledo OH. I 80 was a real mess for the last 30 miles. Snowing very hard and every one was down to 25 mph. Except for the super truckers of course. One ended up in the median as did several cars.

The snow did make it a little interesting last night but only had to put up with an hour's worth before parking at Effingham, IL on my way to an 1100 appt at Mt Zion. I've been back and forth across the mid-north for the past month including 2 deliveries around Toronto. I've only been south once outside of Atlanta and they deadheaded me back to Mt Zion. I was wondering if it had to do with the particular CSR and dispatcher but Carrylynn said it depended on where you were when empty and what was available.

I was exceptionally impressed with Maverick this past week. My sister-in-law died unexpectedly in Louisville and within hours I was assigned a load out of Mt Zion for Louisville and they left me there through the services - and a tornado which hit about 15-18 miles away. My FM even called me on Saturday from home to check on me and my family after the storm. I was able to get a Monday morning load assignment at Mt Zion which I left for Sunday after church and lunch with about 25 family and friends. I will soon (hopefully) be on my way out of Mt Zion to Manhattan, KS.
    Drive easy and God Bless
