It's not Obama. It's ALL of them. Every single last one of them. Frankly, until voters start paying attention and quit labeling themselves it doesn't matter who is sitting in the white house.

Not intended to be a political comment.

Last time, when the prices went high in 2008, the country was still in the hands of the 2004 decline in the economy and the early stages of recession.

It entered into the recession and stumbled badly. It took an even bigger decline in 2005, then dropped steady for 18 months or longer.

By the time 2008 came into the picture, there had been many layoffs and entire jobs gone. Then the price of the fuel began to increase. There was an even greater hurt to the economy.

The main difference now to 2012, is the fact that there is not a growing unemployment, but a steady one and some growth which is leading to a slight recovery in the economy.

    Will it continue?

Who knows. It is a cycle and happens alot.

The only bad thing, since I have watched the economy in 1973 is that we have lost a great deal of jobs to overseas and outside of border areas.

I do not see them returning no matter what any politician says.

    Will gas prices kill jobs?

He didn't ask about the president or what political party is at fault.

In the near future? Freight will dictate. Stuff has already been ordered, built, etc., needs to ship.

Then higher fuel prices will take effect, if they actually do go higher. Keep in mind that if price goes too high, demand falls, so price comes back down. It's supposedly a self-regulating system, if nobody monkeys with it.

You'll just have wait and see what the actual impact is.

The conservatives don't need a plan; and they're also a big part of the economic problem. They (conservatives and liberals alike) spend most of their time trying to figure out how to grab more money and power for themselves and not enough time trying to figure out how to work together to do what's best for the nation.

I'll stop now, so this doesn't get booted over to the politics forum lol
