Call OOIDA for insurance and obtain his own authority it may cost a little more until he turns 23 but they will cover him for sure

CDN is a joke with a poor saftey rating and a lousy payscale that will break anyone. You ought to contact BigBadBill and see what he might can do depending on what the insurance company says. I've been leased to his company the past 6 months pulling a dry van with a little bit of hopper work tossed in. There's 6 trucks leased on with him now. Flats & vans, with available/optional hopper work in the fall. Contract freight, and wild blue loadboard land. I'll take either option and make money. Actually don't even mind missing out on the contract freight anymore, the money is good, but I do just as well winging it out here picking and choosing my own loads/rates. If he's a self starter and willing to learn some simple computer skills to use from the cab of the truck he can learn a lot here. If Mercer can take him, that is an option of course, but their dry van is like all the others out there - piss poor rates or hit and miss at best. Flats would be the only thing I'd even consider at Mercer. If dry van is his only option due to age/insurance or whatever he needs options so he can get loads from anywhere and possibly find his own niche, which is what one must do with a dry van imo.

    BigBadBill Thanks this.

If he could make a hundred thousand dollars to the truck in a year I think he would be fine
