Is it practical to have a game console, like a Playstation or Xbox, in a typical, company owned truck? Would there be room and a power outlet for a good size T.V.?

Iam assuming they would make accomodations if it's a sleeper cab to have some kind of a power outlet.
Don't know what you mean by good size t.v. -
I'm thinking around a 19" TV. I've heard that some drivers and put microwaves, dorm fridges, and smaller TVs in the sleeper berth, so I'm guessing there's power outlets of some kind.

In most company trucks, there are no AC outlets. You would need to get a 120vac to 12vdc inverter. To run a 19 inch tv means you would have to have a pretty heavy duty inverter. Most companies pretty much allow inverters up to 300 watts or one that is capable of being run by the power ports (cigarette lighters) in most trucks. Running a 19inch tv would pretty much not be possible on that size of an inverter.
There is also the thing about room. Most company trucks don't have a tv box that will fit a 19 inch. 13 inches are a good fit but not much bigger. A game console and a 13 inch color tv can run together good on a 300w inverter. I have a tv that runs directly off 12v though.
I would check with your company and get thier policies on how large of an inverter you can install. There are some companies that do allow larger inverters then 300w but they are few and far between. Also, I would check on what their policies are of modifying the interior if you are deadset on putting in a 19inch tv.
In all, I would say that being a company driver, you would do best to get a 13 inch 12vdc tv. Get a 300 w inverter and run the game console on the inverter and plug the tv direct into the truck.
trying to get inventive will be costly, confusing and could cost you your job. Ask before doing. -
Thanks. I'm not deadset on having a 19" set, 13" is fine with me. Once I get hired, I'll be sure to bring this question up.

Here's a 19" HD unit that would work well for you. LCD tv's don't take as much energy as a tube tv. I have last year's model, and it's rated at 45 watts on the back of it. It only weighs about 10 pounds, and comes with it's own mounting bracket/stand. This one has a built in HD tuner, so you would just need a small antenna to get HD programming. You'll be able to use a PS3 or Xbox360 for HD gaming as well as for tv programming!

Here's a compact antenna that will work for you, too!

Also unless you already have the game console you should look at a PS2. There cheap right now games every wear and they draw very little power. I run my 13" TV and PS2 off of a 350w inverter plugged right into the 12v. If You want a X-Box 360 your going to need at least 450w dedicated just to it from what I hear. When I want to play my PS3 I have to use a hard wired 600w or better just to power it.

Im just waiting around for GTA IV to arrive and then Im gonna pop my 13" in the truck and take my breaks regularly
