I tryed puting my delta tune knob all the way left an all the way right while haveing a convosation with a guy and didn't notice any change at all. Is that bad or good the dude I bought the radio from had a tech do some thing to it that I have no idea what all I know is that he gave me more power and stuff like that any idea it he did something to the knob or what he likely did to it?

Probably ought to ask whoever "worked" on your radio.

It's possible it wasn't needed. As posted, the delta tune is from the old days when radios were controlled by plug in crystals instead of the PLL chips. Sometimes someone would be a little off freq. and the delta tune acted as a clarifier to bring them in, similar to the clarifier on an SSB radio.

If someone were talking on a newer radio with the PLL chip, I doubt you will see any difference when adjusting the delta tune. However if you happen to ever chat with someone on one of those old 23 channel radios controlled by crystals, then the delta tune might come into play.

only a few Galaxy radios are FCC type accepted. those are the DX 919 929 939 949 959 979 radios along with the DX 2547 base station.

and that delta tune is a joke. it is nothing more than a clarifier, and a very lame one at that. so unless you get the delta tune modified to "slide" between channels, its pretty much useless.

yeah i never said it was a legal modification. if you look up the FCC rules, anything other than restoring a CB unit to its factory condition is an illegal mod.
