don't think theyhave a shop in valdosta....it's just a little building, a parking lot and a fuel pump......unless they built one since th elast time i was there but i don't know where they'd put it lol

as far as the short haul/regional thing don't know much about it other than talking to one guy doing se regional last fall who said he was going back otr because he was only getting about 1800-2200 miles a week doing it.....daniels may know more about it and comment on it if he sees your post.....

so who else got caught in the snow in wv sunday night? soon as i turned north from wytheville it was intolerable and just got worse as i kept going up.....i've been up into wv many times in the snow and at night in the winter since my wife is from there.....usually they do a really good job keeping the roads clean but they really dropped the ball sunday night......the only thing cleaned off was the toll plazas......the whole way you could hardly see the road, much less the lines in the road.......every now and then a couple of us would get nose to tail but soon as we got to a rest area they would peel off and park and leave me on my own again.....i think i'm one of only a couple who ran the whole length of it sunday night.....if i had been light i'd have probably parked too but heavy as i was it held the road pretty good.....was decent around charleston but then went to hell again turning north out of there until ripley and then nothing....not even a flake.....until i got up into northern ohio.......

been a pretty good week so far......kinda made a big cricle so far......the yard up to marion, ohio in the snow......down to groveport to get loaded.....almost out of hours so stopped at the pilot in sunbury for my 10 and checked out the harley shop there....oldest one in the country....some sweet bikes in there and did some shirt shopping.......then headed over to the shipper when i got my hours back at 2300.....get there at 2330 only to find out they close at 2300....now that would have been a nice piece of information to have before i started my clock at 2300.......was able to do a split and get enough hours to head on over to pittston, pa......then a nice drive up 14 around seneca lake to geneva, ny to load going all the way back down to dunn, nc.......don't know anything about geneva but it must be a college town cause there sure was an overabundance of pretty girls walking the sidewalks there lol......out of dunn today to play hunt the empty trailer....there weren't any there......finally got one in hope mills and loaded out in lumberton heading for lake park.....then see what i get heading for home tomorrow.....good average for the week so far and 620 miles in today.....still running me hard with the exception of the time i losr in the snow sunday night.....i like it

nope no shop in valdosta....was just there today.....

went to bed last night with 5/8 tanks of fuel and woke up almost empty......some useless piece of #### stole the fuel out of my truck last night in sc.....they can be #### glad i didn't wake up and catch them at it....they had some balls on them too because it was a well-lit parking lot with trucks on either side of me and all around.....i'd have sure loved to caught them and introduced them to my big stick....

spent a somewhat irritating day today but that's just part of it......dropped my load this moring and picked up my empty and head to albany, ga to load.....well, get there and the load was a live load appointment was yesterday......but only got the load assignment at noon today......so they say they'll have to fit me in and it'll be 5 hours or more......so i go through their convoluted procedures to drop the trailer, chock and jackstand it, head back allllllll the way around this huge building to the bobtail parking and then call the gaurdhouse to confirm the trailer is secure and ready to load.....then advise dm i have only 3:50 left on the clock......even though he already knew......and that the load was due in alabama at 1715 this afternoon.....somebody really dropped the ball on that one....so he preplans me to valdosta to pick up something heading home for the weekend says get the trailer out of the door and head over there......ride alllll the way back around there and.....nope, they already started loading.....wish they'd make up their mind now i can't have the trailer.......call the dm back....he says plenty of empties there grab one and go......nope, no empties here......but we show 6 there......nope none here.......back and forth back and forth and tick tick tick goes the clock......not the first time this has happened. not even the second time......

finally with 15 minute left to park or roll to valdosta, he says bobtail over there and get the load......finally get there hook to it and time's up for today......and this one was supposed to be delivered yesterday......i hope that's a good sign we're that busy and that far behind and not that somebody is really alseep at the wheel......

to answer your question.....starting pay is .25 for 6 weeks while you're on the trainer's truck.....but they'll run you hard enough the checks will be good......then a graduated pay scale starting at .31 when you get your own truck with periodic scheduled bumps to .35 at one year. i'm at .34 now and in a few weeks will get the final bump to .35 when i hit my year.....then it's .01/yr after that and last i heard top out was .41

been a long day and ran it down to 4 minutes today on the 14....another good milage day......and home tomorrow.....

Another great week. Loaded at home and head to chesapeake,va on sunday for morning delivary. I falling in love with the route I have, im just waiting for the bottom to fall out....lol. NH to VA. Gotten so use to it,dont need a map anymore except for accidents, then I find a way to go around. Overall, home on weekends are pretty nice. Debating on putting in an inverter. Would like to have a microwave. Finslly bought a new bluetooth headset with my awesome paycheck....lol. I like getting paid for a job well done. Anyway, no more yelling to sdaniel over the speaker phone anymore, now I can whisper....;). I hope monday I can roll by chester to get new tires and minor maintenance. Found you yesterday that the replaced windshield leaks....bummer. I just want to know if this truck is a keeper or not. I want to make it livable, only to finf out im moving. I hate moving from truck to truck. Have fun ,safe trip and keep the "Leftdoor" closed.

Sounds like ya'll have had a pretty good week. Mine has been short hauls and ALOT of waiting at shippers and cons for live loads / unloads. I asked about it and was told freight was slow. Was I BS'd? I will have to say that they got me in late last week, didn't get a re-set and have been working off roll over hours all week which I'm sure makes the load planners job more difficult. After I locked her up for the weekend, my DM called and said they had me pre-planned on two dispatches, don't remember all the details but they sounded like both were really short runs. That's trucking I guess, not complaining at all just trying to learn the ropes.

yeah pops some weeks are going to be like that, especially this time of year.....even i have my slack weeks from time to time and you know i run hard but sometimes it just isnt' going to happen.....especially if you get a run of live on both ends back to back to back....i've had a whole week into the next week of them like that and it kills the miles.....or get one like i had last week that had great miles until you factor in the 33 hours i had to sit after driving 13 to get there to wait on the appointment....

running off the recap will limit you somewhat as well so that may have had something to do with it also.....

even though i got good miles this week, i still had to take something with only 174 on it to get somewhere that i could get a longer one.....sometimes you'll end up in an area where it's going to take one or two short ones to get out of there and into a better freight lane....

hang in there man spring is coming and so are the better runs lol

All right fellas, all rested and ready to run hard this week. Got to ride the Hawg a little over 200 miles yesterday. Wasn't as warm as I would have liked but you still can't beat a bike ride!! It's almost a religious experience every time I get on mine. lol
Leaving this afternoon for Cartersville, GA, going to "camp out" in their lot for 0500 delivery in the am. Wake up with a fresh set of hours ready for more! Hope everyone has a great week and gets to blow the big horn at some little kid pumping his fist in the air!! Tell me you don't enjoy that!
I need to decide on how I want to get on the internet while I'm on the road so I don't have to wait til the weekend to catch up on everything. Stay safe!
