cooking in the truck

You can get the aluminum pans at WalMart... Much less expensive!!

 

I checked out the [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001KVZT7C/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=navigacreati-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B001KVZT7C""]Nuwave[/ame] at Amazon. It looks pretty cool. Might have to get one eventually. Does it need a great deal of power, monkeypuncher?

 

My concern w/those is the heat it would put out around it...

 

don't know for sure,but i figure at least 1800 watts.but i think the super wave oven might be better.the nu wave dome is plastic and breaks easy.the super wave is glass. www.superwaveoven.com

 

Anyone use a small toaster / convection oven on the road? I looked at one when we were picking up a microwave for one of the company trucks, and it looked like it would fit right on top of the fridge and mirowave we put into the closet of a 63" peterbilt bunk.
I think it would be good for cooking things like tuna melts, steaks or porkchops.

 

In the spring summer months I carry a grill and match light charcoal, as we are not supposed to carry lighter fluid. I get out and cook steaks, chicken breasts pork chops. I also have a microwave and fridge with freezer in my truck. Winter months to save space i take grill out to alot for chain box

 

i used a bigger 1.i could put a 13x9 pan in it,or cook a full size frozen pizza.you might store it in a cabinet,would't use it there.they get kinda warm on the outside.

 

I would think twice before carrying a butane stove in the truck. You may have issues with various DOTs depending on the state and probably your company has restrictions about these stoves. If you go back to the yard for maintenance and they spot it in your truck you may be in trouble if the company has a policy (in most cases they will have one) against combustible items in the truck. I use an electric lunch box cooker, canned food and an electric cooler. I come home every week so I don't need as many conveniences in the truck.

 

really?so you can't take canned deoderent,air freshner,wd-40,etc.i've been driving a little while,for a variety of companies,including a few bottom feeders.never a word was said,and i didn't try to hide it.if they ever said i couldn't cook in the truck during orientation,i'd get up and walk out.and where excactly in the dot rules does it say you can't?i've had dot all through my truck,nothing said.i've gone onto military bases,they where considering taking my knife set.not my butane.
