I had figured on three of four turns to SE Missouri this past week hauling seed potatoes to the company farm....

Did a turn and burn Sunday/Monday and reloaded on Tuesday and headed back down... blew THREE tires on the way down and, when I got there on Wednesday evening, it was too late to unload. Rained all night Wednesday and most of the day Thursday so I didn't get empty until Friday night (I had cut seed on that is loaded directly onto the field trucks that feed the planter).

So my $8K week was all shot to hell... so much for steak and lobster this weekend!

Clasix1055, SHC and 123456 Thank this.

As an o/o, do you have a detention clause in your contracts for this type of situation?

Nah I don't have a detention clause in my lease but the 1st. drop guy felt so bad, when his crew showed up monday morning, 1 of the riggers pulled a $100.00 bill outa his pocket and handed it to me. Ain't a lot, but was nice none the less. I never asked for anything as it wasn't his fault the shipper didn't notify him that the unit was coming.

This kinda thing doesn't happen very often, and the co. I'm leased to (STC) took up some slack by bumping the linehaul rate up some.

No complaints here, just hate to sit!
