I'm offically a Pumpkin Patch member. Have been since Feb. 23. I'm holding back opinion on the truthfullness of the recruiters until I actually FLY home. But so far, so good. Everything the recruiter told me was no BS.

    Cooper09 Thanks this.

Lol you can keep that "Flying" home all to yourself...I prefer keeping my 18 on the ground and rollin' down the Highway. But welcome to Schneider. Hope you enjoy the experience as much as I have.

I haven't asked about that one. But it makes sense to do it that way. Easier on the driver (dosen't have to worry about packing all of his stuff and figuring out how to fly it all home) and for the company (buying a round-trip ticket vs two one-ways). I'll ask my DBL about that later.

I said I would respond to this after I got my flight home. I'm writing this at the Gary OC.

OK, no BS from the recruiters. I have a flight from O'Hare Airport to Orlando Int'l for tomorrow morning. I have to admit (and reading from the previous posts) I was extremely skeptical about this whole assignment, seeing how trucking company recruiters tend to have a very horrible reputation among drivers. But the recruites, as well as my DBL, have all been up front and honest in everything. They say they're going to do something, they're going to do everything in their power to see it's done.

And I actually like it here. I know the skeptics are going to say, "Wait a while." I understand the "new" wears off after a while. But so far, no matter which OC I go to, or any customer, for that matter, I've been treated with respect, dignity...and they actually LISTEN to me. Of course, I listen to them, as well, but I've thrown a few ideas at my DBL during my first month out here and has agreed with me on most of them.

Overall: For a large company, Schneider tell you exactly like it is. And you're expected to work hard. The rewards will come later in the form of respect from your superiors and your peers. I hope to stay a long time here at Schneider.

Kid- are you filling in for drivers that are on vacation?

Basically SNI flies you to where they need a driver cause one is on vacation or something, and you fill in, then they send you somewhere else, then you turn in the truck and fly home?

Is that how you are working?

They only fly me home and to another truck at an OC. But, I am essentially on what's known as a "vacation" board. I fill in wherever I'm needed att he time. It seems to be a region a week or so.

Example, I was out for four weeks (they say you have to stay out three weeksa, but the driver can stay out longer if he/she so chooses). One week, I was in the northeast, a week and a half, I was in the south, the final week, I was in the midwest.
