lve2drv, Thanks for the "heads-up" on Energy Dispatch. I was thinking about applying with them..They said they'd guarantee $200/day as a base
and some days you may do $280.00 +/-. They did say $ during the day was getting tougher as the trucks in line at the load racks were really stacking up , resulting in less loads being able to be hauled as they do 12 hr. slip seating. I've been at this 34+ yrs. (clean drv record) but never did the tanking thing. 32 yrs. were as an own/op.

nope. at perimeter oil in west atl and marathon in powder springs ga there was rarely any waiting to load and if you did it was maybe 20-25 min at night. that was almost 4 yrs ago when I made that post.

$200 is base unless you are late for work. they will not allow you to make more than $225-$240 because they installed people net units in the trucks. if you travel faster than 5 mph over speed limit more than 1% of the time during that particular month its a write up. it also keeps you to only dropping 4 loads a night. which is around $170-$210 a night.

try loves or research other fuel hauling companies before ed. they are not the worst but the pay isnt there anymore. i would have been lucky to make $47,000 this yr. i would suggest looking into any ltl company. my 1st day at fedex was today and i started at $21 hr and .505 cpm. unless bp,marathon, shell or any other major oil company is hiring in your area.

i`m going to driving school soon, will it be hard for me to get a gas hauling job right out of school?Does Pilot, Love`s, Energy Dispatch or KAG train newbies?
I`m willing to take my lumps as a newbie, so info would be helpful, thank you!

When your a rookie it isn't what you know.... Its who you know that makes the big difference.

If you have to work your way into things like I had too; coming from the service sector.

Try Halliburton and apply for just the Cement positions, you need just CDL and N endorsement ie Tanker. You get the Experience you need and you just might decide to Stay; its the one position that is easier to get promoted into high management the easiest. Mainly due too the required long hours on the site sometimes. 22.5 on a site can easily pass. "Cooler filled with goodies are Required" :biggrin_2559::biggrin_25525:

I am looking at applying at Solar Energy out of Indy and just wondered if anyone knows anything about them like pay or days off. I've been pulling a tanker for the past 11 years and make good money where I am (middle of nowhere KS.) but the wife is homesick and wants to move back to Indy.
