I asked some truckers in real life and no one was really sure but they said they do it. When there is no height bar but a no truck sign, can you go in there if you are bob tailing? I have done that when going to a Walmart but wanted to make sure.

There's really no way to be sure but if they don't tell you to move then its probably ok.

NewNashGuy its pretty much a local thing. Some cities won't allow it and at others its up to the Manager of the paticular Walmart. The best thing to do is ask the Manager on duty.

walmarts policy on RVs and trucks parking has always been yes, unless a city ordinance says otherwise. but, seeing how nasty truck drivers are with trash, many of them (walmarts, lowes, etc) are installing the height bars to keep everyone of us out. it only takes a few bad apples to ruin it for the bushel.

my gps has an app that shows all the walmarts and it gives the phone numbers as well. if i need to park at one, i call ahead and ask. saves me time and the hassle of getting off the big road to find out i cant park there.

The real reason the WalMart no truck policy started was they got fined by the EPA for emissions in some states. Why wouldn't the policy apply to bobtails? Some will have you towed . I read a while back a WalMart manager called a tow company to tow all the trucks on his lot. Two WalMart trucks got towed.

When WalMart built in my town the town made them set up a separate entrance for delivery trucks so they would not be driving thru a development of new starter castles. .

Zoning also banned trucks staying overnight in the main lot.

Now it is a few years down the road and WalMart was told to start enforcing the local ordinance...up went the No Overnight Truck Parking signs...looks like RV's are OK

Here in El Paso, most "NO TRUCKS" signs are accompanied with a "Over 26 feet in length except for local deliveries". I get away with it all the time, lol

When in doubt, we park (for shopping) back near the loading docks, not in their car parking area... Never had a problem. :)
