Yes.... I had one female team partner one time, on the first hr in the truck, she asked me if I found her attractive....And after 2 seconds of silence I answered her, ...no.
And she never tried anything with me. But after a little over 2 weeks, I stepped out of the truck. Couldn't stand the arguments, and her controlling attitude.

You'll be fine. There's a lot of ladies that did what you're doing 30 years ago that you owe for that, though. I have a good trucker friend that I've known for over a decade that's been doing it 25 years now. I bought my first truck from her and bought the step deck I'm pulling last year from her now that she hauls a triaxle RGN. She was even featured in one of those truckstop magazines a few years back. Be professional, don't invite trouble, and you'll be fine. Good luck.

I have always had a male job...some men are okay with me and some are not...I just started Trucking...Got my CDL 2 weeks before Christmas and sarted driving the week after Christmas I have run across a few A holes but for the most the guys have all been nice and have tried to be helpful.

You aren't really gonna have any more trouble with the other drivers out here than you had with men in your last career. Almost all the trouble you may encounter will be from riff-raff that hangs around truck stops and rest areas. Dealers, muggers, players, pimps, panhandlers, and so on. And male drivers have to be every bit as alert and on guard as you. My brother in law got knocked out in the TA Youngstown, Oh once. When the dirtbag found out Steve was broke, he kicked him and broke 2 ribs. The trouble you may have from industry people you can handle, its all the filth around the edges you need to watch out for.

I see women drivers all of the time and the cute ones get all types of good attention so you shouldn't have a problem. Any time a woman gets on the CB and has a question every guy will try to jump on the CB to answer.

keep a trash can in your truck.some shippers dont have female bathrooms.I did use the guys room at krogers in cinn.the guy that came after me sure was redfaced when he was commenting on the heat and I answered. As for the drivers most of them are teddy bears but there is some real morons out there.

Be prepared to be ooggled and awwed, sorry that is what it has come too. I've been here 22 yrs and its only gone downhill for ALL. The way you conduct yourself in and out tof the truck will gain you respect. There shouldn't be a different standard for a woman or a man in this job but unfortunatly there is. Be proud of what you do and if it feels wrong than it probably is. Some sleeze ball drivers will try to take advantage of you but lady rest assured there are many of us out here that pay attention and have no problem doing the right thing. Live your dream and good luck.

First be careful. Situational awareness is a must. There are some pretty nice truck stops and drivers everywhere. And interspersed in there are some of the dirtiest, scummy, unethical maggots on the planet. At least that's my opinion. I am a pretty big old boy and I watch my tail real well in parking lots. Maybe I'm too safe , but I am always looking under and behind everything I pass or approach. Don't start any trouble and you normally won't get any.
Be safe. Drive within your comfort zone. And don't be afraid to slowly widen it. Girls are driving everything. Heavy Haul Gal used to be here. May still be. She can drive with the best of them. So can many others so don't get mad if I can't remember all of you hairy legged ol' gals. lol
Brokers and shippers are a whole different story. But still some great and some roaches.
Lot to learn. But you sound like you have great attitude. Don't let this or any other career take that from you. You will be fine because you are winner.
WATCH THAT CURB!!! LOL
