Going to run across the UP tomorrow for first time with a load from Traverse City,Mi to Rogers,Mn and it is 80 miles shorter that way than going south through Indiana and Illinois. My question is do they take EZPass at the Mackinaw Bridge or do you have to pay cash? Do you pay going both ways also?

Cash only, the one time i went over it the toll was around $25, but that was a year ago. Both ways if i remember correctly.
-
dirty jerz is correct. The toll is $25.00 each way ( $5 per axle ) assuming you are regular ( 80,000 lbs ) tandem tractor and tandem trailer. You can cross the bridge with more axles but you will need an escort for the first 3 bridge crossings and then you will get a crossing pass that exempts you from the need for an escort. Just remember right lane only, speed limit is 25 mph and i think 300 ft spacing. Takes a long time to cross but it sure is a cool view!!

Yeah, it is a long ride. And to think about it $25 isnt bad. All bridges into nyc are $70. Glad they use ezpass.

Thanks guys info was dead on. Was a nice ride I just wish It would of been fall with the leaves changing.

25 bucks for the 18 wheeler, the spacing is 500 feet, the speed limit is 20 MPH They run cams on the bridge so don't go above 25 or they may nab you at the toll booth. Stay in the right lane, because it is a scale also. If you are empty you can go 45 mph. I cross that thing all the time. watch your speed as you go across US 2 or even US 28 depending on what way you go. over 60 mph and they start pulling the trucks over. Enjoy the trip.
