    Hey All,

Any bird lovers out there? Ever taken a companion bird on the road? I'd love to hear about it, if you have. :biggrin_2551: Chime in please! Thx!

I've made a couple of personal trips across the country with birds and I think I'd leave them at home if I were you. Sure they're great company but the mess is the big problem. Even if you have that under control then you have to deal with someone stealing the bird or the bird just getting out. Even with the wings clipped, the bird can jump out a door when you're not looking.

I'd also be worried about any sickness the bird might be exposed to. I'm sure the bird will not eat properly which might bring the immune system down where the bird could get sick easier. IMHO it's just not worth it.

I have thought about it but I don't think high and low temps would be good for them.

Well, as i suspected, there doesn't appear to be to many bird owner truckers. Ya'll have made some good points. And, yes i did do a cross country with my parrot- it wasn't fun. So, as much as I'll miss her, and stuff- best she stay home. I lost one on a "fly away" about 4 years ago- absolutely devastating! I'll call her on the phone.. ;-) Thanks for the input.
