Small storie short, one driver and my self brought a beer load from baldwinsville, ny to ft collins co. Both of us had same trucks , both of us are lease drivers. Now he left the beer plant in Ny 8 hours before i did, he complained about gettin 5mpg and fuel and blah blah. well during the duration of the trip he passed me 6 times. he was at least going 67-70 i was only going 57-60. i got a avg of 7.7 mpg thru the total trip. I got in Ft collins 90 mins before he did, 3 am when he got there, there were 9 trucks to be checked in before him. My point is guys complain about fuel and everything else but yet FAIL to do anything about it.

Been like that for years , they HURRY to the POINT that they fall behind , had that twice this week , I arrived on time another O/O bragging on how he beat me by 2 hours then :biggrin_25521: has to wait 3 hours to get unloaded as the component on my trailer was needed ahead of his. Got to listen to his poor FUEL mileage and how its KILLING his $.

To each his own. I love Pete's, but I'm a huge fan of the international 9900 series. I love the looks and the cab felt very spacious to me

Companies have money for lavish bonuses and latest upgrades but can't pay drivers a decent wage,I would'nt help save on fuel either.

I don't stay in Hotels/Motels. When I am on the road my truck is my home. When I idle for 8-10 hours it's a lot cheaper than paying for a Hotel/Motel room for 24 hours when I am only going to stay in it for 10 hours...................

:biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514:some people get it and some don't!!
I was EB on rt 17 in NY when 2 trash haulers flew by me, the 2nd one pulled in close enough that my anti collision radar picked him up. Clocked him at 76mph and the other one was pulling away from the 2nd one. I flipped on the cb and heard em b*tchin about fuel prices and how they had to run FASTER so they could sqeeze in an extra load that week!:biggrin_25523: YEP some get and some don't!

I ain't talkin bout damage right away haha.

Just that the oil would be so cold that the engine would be working harder to love that thick oil around. It might not have any effect in short term. But thinking long term, maybe 750,000 or more miles later it might cause minor problems

its not just that, but the office culture in general relative to how they act towards most drivers, the avg driver has more responsibility on his shoulder than the entire office staff combined on any given workday.

    Can you explain that???
If you don't have a decent wage why not? Who's getting the lavish bonus? What upgrade?? Do you mean a new/nicer truck? Would you be happier with an older beat up one?
