Yep, many trucks in EU and CIS tow trailers with disk brakes, EBS and other modern stuff.
And I'd say it is good, becouse brake responce is fast, better TEBS/ABS operating and it is safely, becouse trailer brakes apply first, it avoids jacknifing.
But if you use trailer with EBS be sure EBS got no faults and trailer ABS power supply is OK. -
Yesterday i had to move for just a few km a modern trailer with abs and ebs with my 1993 tractor and the trailer wouldent brake,is it normal?
-
what trailer? what year?
if trailer got TEBS this system needs 12V power supply ore 24V in Europe -
viberti trailer from last year with abs-ebs-rss pulled with a 1993 iveco eurostar. Trailer didn't brake at all, thanks god it was empty and i only had to drive 4 km.

EBS got built in LSV function, so laden trailer brakes well.
There is air bag pressure semsor in EBS unit (sometimes internal), and more paiload - more brake pressure.
Look at trailer brake plate. You can see four point brake curves. One for laden, other for emoty trailer
